Cambridge Scottish Country Dancing Society We also hold JAM sessions (for children between 9-14) before club nights on Wednesdays 6-7pm.

Cambridge Scottish Country Dancing Society is a fun and friendly place to spend an evening for people of all ages, whether it is to socialise and meet new people or to try something new and take up a new hobby. We have a whole range of abilites from our newer dancers who started with our beginner courses this year to those who have been dancing for many years and help guide our beginners with their expertise, alongside our two wonderful tutors Antanas and Helen. For dancers new to Scottish Dancing we hold regular 8 week courses as an introduction to dancing where we will teach you the basics to get you fully invovled in the club. The last Wednesday of every month we hold a "Tartan Night" where we all wear something tartan and bring a plate for supper and tea and coffee after the dancing is over so we can all have a general chat and catch up.

Are you looking for an easy, fun way to improve both your mental and physical fitness? Come along and find out for yourself - first night is free. Dancing starts at 7:30pm on Wednesday evenings in St Andrew's Church Hall, Hamilton Road, Cambridge (just look for the white church on the corner) and some friendly folk will welcome you with open arms. You don't have to be scottish to do Scottish Country Dancing - it is danced in over 56 countries by a wide range of ethnicities. You don't have to be fit either! A very special thank you to all the Scottish Country dancers who participated in the Cambridge Can Dance event held in the Cambridge Town Hall as part of the Cambridge Autumn Festival this evening. Dancers from Cambridge, Lochiel, Hamilton Scottish, Rotorua and Whakatane clubs made up three sets. A great time was had by all as can be seen in the video where the audience all joined in for a very fun dance. Unfortunately, the video only captures the last two times through but enough to show everyone having fun

If you've heard of Ceilidh Dancing then this is very similar - just not as raucous! No Entry fee so what have you got to lose?
