πŸŽ‰ Cambridge U14A Shine in Mt Maunganui! πŸŽ‰

Another fantastic tournament for our Cambridge U14A team, who finished 2nd in their pool and an impressive 4th overall out of 18 teams at the Helen Dodge Representative Memorial Tournament in Mt Maunganui on Sunday. πŸ™Œ

The team produced some outstanding performances throughout the day, recording convincing wins over Waihi (24–0), Ōtorohanga (17–11), Hamilton City Development (18–12), and Taupō (15–5).

Two incredibly close losses β€” by just one goal to Te Awamutu (10–9) and two goals to Thames Valley (11–9) β€” highlighted just how competitive this group is. In fact, Cambridge finished only just behind overall tournament winners Te Awamutu. πŸ’ͺ

The team continues to build strong combinations across the court, showing great determination, teamwork and resilience with every outing. This tournament was another important step in their preparation for New Plymouth, and there is plenty to be excited about as the season progresses.

Congratulations to all players, coaches and supporters on another excellent day representing Cambridge. We are incredibly proud of you all! πŸ’™πŸ’›

🏐 Cambridge U16 Representatives Continue Strong Form in Tauranga 🏐

Our Cambridge U16 Representative team had another fantastic day of netball at the Helen Dodge Memorial Tournament in Tauranga on Sunday.

The day started with a rematch against Te Awamutu, the only team to defeat us the previous weekend. The girls were determined to turn the result around and produced an outstanding performance to secure a well-deserved win.

Next up was Tauranga. A slow start put us on the back foot, but the team showed tremendous character to fight their way back into the contest. Despite a strong comeback, we fell just short, going down by only two goals.

The following two games showcased some beautiful netball. Our defensive unit worked tirelessly, the midcourt displayed excellent movement and timing, and our shooters were incredibly accurate, resulting in two convincing wins.

We then faced Taupō, another side we had enjoyed a tough battle against the previous weekend. Once again, it was a physical and highly competitive game against a very tall opposition. Cambridge led by two goals at halftime, but Taupō fought back in the second half and we narrowly lost by two goals.

After a long day of netball, the team finished strongly with an impressive win over Otorohanga.

It has been exciting to watch the continued growth of this group, with combinations developing well across the court and confidence building each week.

We now look forward to our final tournament in Hamilton this coming Sunday before we head to North Island Junior Champs early July!

On Sunday, Cambridge Netball Centre had three representative teams competing at the Rotorua Representative Tournament, providing a fantastic first opportunity to test combinations and build connections.

Under 16A
The Under 16A team came away with two wins and one loss in a strong start to their campaign.
"I use the first two tournaments to build team culture and try out as many combinations as I can," Kellie (Coach)
With plenty of potential and growth still to come, this is definitely a team to watch over the next two weekends.

Under 14A
The Under 14A team could not have asked for a better start to their representative season, finishing the day unbeaten with three wins from three games to top their section.
Congratulations to the players, coach Stacey and manager Kate. We look forward to seeing the team in action again next weekend.

Under 14B
The Under 14B team faced a challenging day against some tough opposition. While they were unable to secure a win, the team showed great determination, resilience, and sportsmanship throughout all three games.
Their effort and attitude never wavered, and they produced some lovely passages of netball during the day.

We look forward to another exciting weekend of representative netball next weekend in Tauranga.
