Jiu Jitsu Lifeskills New Zealand

Jiu Jitsu Lifeskills New Zealand JIU JITSU is widely regarded as one of the more effective forms of Self Defence because of its large array of techniques taught.

Jiu Jitsu - or the Gentle Art as it is sometimes known - is widely regarded as the Father of Martial Arts because it encompasses such forms as JUDO, HAPKIDO, SHORIJI-KEMPO, AIKIDO, BJJ, and some systems of KARATEDO, which all took root from JIU JITSU. These include CHOKE LOCKS, BONE LOCKS, GRAPPLING, PALMING, PRESSURE POINT STRIKING, THROWS and EXPLOSIVE MOVEMENTS of DEFENCE. The ability to use No

The Head Instructor Professor Dave Millar, an internationally recognised 8th Degree Black Belt in Jiu Jitsu,

has been with Martial Arts for over 45years giving him a wealth of knowledge and experience to call from. Us older practitioners are not always taken as seriously or felt that we are any challenge for the younger crowd, but we have no quit and we fight the battle on the mats each roll against our training partner plus our own deficits related to age.

"Every time you train, you're fighting a private war against time and age. Every drop of sweat, every breath you take, is a victory, small but significant. It's a testament to your tenacity, to your unyielding spirit that refuses to bow down to the inevitable march of time.

Training in Jiu-Jitsu or Judo at this age isn't just about keeping your body fit. It's about sharpening your mind, about honing your instincts. It's about showing up, getting your hands dirty, and fighting the good fight. It's about discipline, respect, and the will to never stop learning, never stop moving".
