Santoft Forest and Beach Run Update:

It has been and continues to be an extremely difficult time in the events industry across NZ as we try to work within the government’s alert level guidelines.

Due to the unpredictable Covid-19 situation, we unfortunately have to cancel the Santoft Forest and Beach Run for November this year. We considered several options of running the event under Level 2 restrictions. However, we felt this would create an event that we would not be entirely happy with or do justice for our sponsors. Much of the positive feedback we received from the last event was around the family friendly atmosphere and entertainment throughout and after the event. We would really love to replicate this and offer you a fantastic event experience, but feel under the current circumstances we will be falling short of our (and your) standards.

We were hoping to be able to postpone to early next year. However, with many other events also having to postpone, there are now many event clashes. We feel this, coupled with the ongoing uncertainty, will impact on the timing of the event. The reluctant decision has therefore been made to reschedule for a similar time next year.

We appreciate the disappointment and frustration this might cause, as this and many other events are having to cancel or postpone due to the ongoing Covid situation. We really do hope you will continue to support us in the future when we can offer you the event you signed up for.

Thank you to the generosity of those who have said they will donate their entry fees to the school (as this is one of our main fundraisers).

In terms of your entry, if next year's event date does not suit, you will be able to cancel and receive a refund (minus a $10 admin fee as stated under the standard withdrawal conditions set out on the ‘Entry Details’ page of the event website).

For admin purposes it would be great to be able to carry over as many entries as possible. If you are unable to transfer your entry for some reason please email:

If you can see yourself running or walking along here then you might want to enter now. We are very lucky to gain access to the Santoft Forest for our event from Ernslaw One Limited as it is not usually open to the public. Such a stunning, secluded part of coastal NZ. Come and enjoy the serenity!

After a Covid-19 enforced break in 2020, we are stoked to announce the return of the Santoft Forest and Beach Adventure Run/Walk. This year’s event is scheduled for Saturday 13 November - we’re aiming to make it even bigger and better than in 2019, so lock in the date and don’t miss out!

There will again be a range of race options available, from a half marathon traversing forest and beach terrain to a 1km beach dash for the little ones. Dear all, after careful deliberation the Santoft Forest and Beach organising committee has made the call to cancel the event for this year. Recent developments have shown that the Covid-19 risk is still very real, and it is a timely reminder that things can turn quickly, especially with most of winter still ahead.

We will confirm and share the details of the 2021 event as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. 💚

Covid-19 event update:

With our 2020 event date still about 5 month away, it is very difficult to predict how the Covid-19 situation will develop between now and October. As such, we are postponing making gthe call on the staging of this year's event for another month.

We will not be opening entries until we have more certainty regarding the development of the pandemic and the related restrictions on events.

Fingers crossed that we will be able to proceed – we will keep you posted on any developments over the coming months.

We were blown away by the positive feedback (66% of you rated the event 5/5, and another 30% gave it 4/5)! But of course not everything was perfect, and we very much appreciate the constructive feedback received on where we can improve - we will be taking the suggestions on board in our quest to bring you an even more enjoyable event in 2020.
