🐴🤎 EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – EQUINE THERAPIST 🤎🐴
Hillview Equine | Buckland / Pukekohe
We are looking for a genuine, passionate and experienced Equine Therapist to join the Hillview Equine team on an employment contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of developing and delivering equine-assisted therapeutic programmes for children and young people.
You’ll work alongside me and our horses, helping children & adults develop confidence, communication, emotional regulation, responsibility and life skills through structured equine-based activities.
🐴 The role will involve:
• Delivering equine-assisted therapeutic sessions
• Working alongside me and the Hillview Equine team
• Supporting and teaching children & adults safe, respectful interactions with horses
• Groundwork and therapeutic horse activities
• Developing age-appropriate activities and programmes
• Building positive relationships with children, adults and families
• Maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and records
• Following Hillview Equine's health, safety and horse welfare procedures
• Prioritising the wellbeing of both participants and horses
🤎 The person we're looking for:
• Has genuine qualifications and/or professional experience in equine therapy / equine-assisted practice (ideally qualified and ACC registered)
• Has experience working with children, young people & adults
• Is confident, compassionate, patient and reliable
• Has excellent horse handling and safety awareness
• Understands professional boundaries and safeguarding
• Is passionate about the therapeutic benefits of horses
• Is comfortable working as part of a small team
• Is willing to contribute to the ongoing development of our programmes
📋 Employment
This position will be offered under a formal employment agreement, with hours, duties, remuneration and other employment conditions discussed with the successful applicant.
This is not a volunteer position.
