**Shodan Grading – Returning to the Beginning**

As Riley and Andrew step onto the floor to prepare for this important milestone.

You may notice something special during their preparations — they will be wearing a white belt,

After years of training, dedication, and perseverance, returning to the white belt symbolises Shoshin – the beginner’s mind, It reminds us that no matter how much we achieve in karate, we must always approach training with humility, openness, and the willingness to keep learning.

Shodan is not the end of the journey. In many ways, it is the beginning of deeper study, stronger spirit, and greater responsibility within the dojo.

As Kaicho says:

“The black belt is not the end of training. It is the beginning of serious training."

We wish Riley and Andrew the very best as they prepare for their grading. Your hard work, commitment, and spirit embody what karate training is all about.
