Oh Boy ! NOT the way I like to start the day. While I was taking my boots off from letting the two dogs out Rod decided he would do the morning dog biscuit run. They are usually quite excited but today it all went wrong and Kelpie and Woodles were into a huge dog fight all over the sitting room. Fortunately Tessa didn't have time to get her aim in and take sides. Rod, in his pyjamas, was charging round like a wounded bull and I was shouting at Rod to stay out of it to avoid injury. They parted briefly and I chucked Kelpie outside.
I think we are going to have to re-home Kelpie. He is SO agressive and we really can't cope with dog fights in our debiltated state. He needs a small life style block with leanings towards pet. Could be perfect if it is the right home. It wouldn't be fair to send him back to proper working home. He has been spoiled for seven years. I am not enjoying always having to be on the look out for the next fight. We have NEVER had in fighting in our dog pack before. Woodles and Kelpie have hated each other since Day One and castrating them made no difference at all. Anyone know of a good prospective home?

I forgot to say there were also three visiting equines treated. Two huge, BEAUTIFUL, very classy Hunters, and a pint size version of the same. Made our mob look like hairy country hicks from the Council Estate, One knew we were in the presence of greatness, and those shiny, satin coats - wow! And very nice owners to boot.

Phew!!! Tommy here from 1.45 to after 5.30pm and it was all go for the whole time. Two lucky horses, after not being seen by Tommy for three years, weren't sore - Big Bill and Rocky. All the rest were either sore, very sore or extremely sore including poor old Ellie who had a hip out. The hardest one to treat was Perkins who remembered his hip was out last time and wouldn't stand to be tended to.
"Thank you" isn't strong enough to say to Emma, Addison, Tina, Nicky and Linda who carted horses, held horses and ran a million errands and kept the whole process flowing like clockwork. Even Tessa and Max got treated.
When everyone crawled off home I shot to town to buy Subways. There are four or five horses in the Clover Paddock who have to stay on the flat for varying times. Some of them are now in love with new boy Marley and some are in killer mode.
More later.

Tommy Behrns phoned this afternoon. Trying to be here for 2.00pm on Saturday and he knows there are a lot of horses. As many Volunteers as possible would be very useful. Emma is definitely coming in the morning to get horses down. I am planning to put the vulnerable horses in the New Pen to await treatment, so that is Sq**rt, Cat and Shimmer and we'll put the new boy by the Tack Shed so no one can kill him in the yard.
For those who like butter but won't buy it at current prices, Butter is $5.49 at Pak and Slave and they have STACKS of it waiting to be scooped up.

Hot off the press!! Tommy definitely coming here on Saturday afternoon, on the lunchtime ferry.
Other news is new visiting horse arrived after school today and is on the hill meeting new enemies. Stbred, 9 years old, "Marley". Very clear brand so we can get his racing name.

For Tommy's visit SUPER generous people are already sponsoring the treatment of four lucky horses. I have just paid out a vast sum to fix the water problems so I wonder if anyone else might feel like paying for Dusky, Cat, Ellie and Sergeant Pepper. I am getting too old to be shy, when I need help I ask for it and be damned!
It looks like it might be Saturday for the visit so it would be Handy Harry If Emma/and or Tina were not working. The more hands on deck the better

One of the people who is bringing horses here for Tommy's visit says it may be the weekend of the 19 March. Please let me know exactly which horses will be on the list so we can have them all down off the hill and ready
