Season Finale - ANZAC Weekend at eastern states speedway
Friday night, 16 cars, I can’t remember grids.
Race 1 - Finished 3rd
Race 2 - DNF after a hit to the left front - bent steering arm, destroyed a tyre and (as we later found out) cracked the brake caliper
Race 3 - Finished 3rd again… crossed the line and went for the brakes into the corner, pedal straight to the floor. The caliper had literally split apart lucky it held on until the last lap.
Saturday night, 19 cars (including a couple of superstocks)
Race 1 - DNF off the start, lift arm broke causing the diff to rotate back, very lucky there was no damage to the driveshaft or gearbox.
Race 2 - Finished 5th
Race 3 - Last race of the season so we mixed it up a bit, did some blocking which was completely new to me and generally made a nuisance of myself
Not really doing a full season recap as I’ve only run 6 meetings in the new car and a couple in the old one, but we’ve still managed:
3rd at King of the Coast (Greymouth)
2nd in Best Pairs at home
My main goal has just been getting seat time and gaining more experience by racing in larger packs, But I am still pretty new to it all.
The car has already started to be stripped down for a tidy up over winter, nothing major planned as nothing big needs to be done other than a general tidy up and paint to go with a new design.
I just want to say a big thanks and huge appreciation to Bridgestone Tyre Centre Blenheim for backing me and also supporting the local club & stockcar class!
And of course, massive thanks to all our sponsors we couldn’t do it without you. We have also still got room on the car too if anyone’s keen to jump on board and show their name or brand on a fairly competitive car👍
