🏀🏀 The long awaited winter Senior finals are here tomorrow night!

Kicking off the night at 5:30pm we have our Men's B on court 1 between JNP Pacifica and Stretch and PRAY and our Women's on court 2 between Storm and MBA U18 Girls!

Followed by our 6:30pm games, Mixed on court 1 between Toa and Wiarau and Men's A on court 2 between JellyFam and SuperSonics!

All 8 of these teams have had to battle some stiff competition to make it to where they are and we look forward to watching them battle it out for that final top spot!

Big shout out to our refs aswell who as always keep the comp running, congrats to Tamati and John for bagging their first major finals games!

Come on down and support some great talent in our awesome region!

After hearing how much your kids enjoyed our 3x3 Miniball Competitions in Terms 1 and 2, we're excited to introduce a Year 3 & 4 Mini Comp!

Join us on Thursday 9 July from 9:00am–12:30pm for a fun-filled morning of basketball skills, games, and plenty of action. Teams from our Miniball competition can enter together, and we'll kick things off with a skills session run by some of Kaha Basketball and Marlborough Basketball's elite players before getting into the games.

Don't have a team? No problem! Register individually, and we'll help place you in a team.

It's back! 🏀

After a fun and successful camp last holidays, our Term 2 Basketball Holiday Camp is back!

We're excited to welcome special guest coach Tyler Herbert, a former Marlborough Basketball player who has represented New Zealand in 3x3 basketball. Tyler will be sharing his experience, knowledge, and skills with our young athletes throughout the camp.

And with our last night of Men's B round robin games completed we have our Final standings and Semi Finalist teams have been decided!

All comps are formatted that 1st vs 4th and 2nd vs 3rd for our Semi Finals.
Our Men's B comp was an extremely close and exciting comp this year with 5 teams tying at 8-3 with it all coming down to points difference!

JNP Pacifica had +118 Points, Gilas had +111 Points, Stretch and PRAY had +94 Points and The Bottling Company had +83!

Kaiaka unfortunately missed out on semis having +70 Points!

Reminder to everyone that Semis are next week followed by Finals next Friday (The 19th)! We would love to have everyone down to support our top teams as they battle for that first place!

Thank you very much to everyone who has helped make this years winter comps the great comps they have been, we are very privileged to have such a wonderful and caring community!

Bring on Finals week to end this winter league off with a bang!

Its been a pleasure as always seeing our young ones playing and we've seen a lot of talent - we are looking forward to when these young stars are rep age!
Thank you to all the school organisers, Parents, Coaches, Refs and any other volunteers I've missed, without you all these comps don't happen!

MBA May On-Court Report! 🏀

May was a fun month for Marlborough Basketball, from the U16 Top of the South Tournament on the West Coast, to hosting the U19 Top of the South here at home, plus skills sessions in schools and the announcement of our 2026 U14 representative teams.

🏀🏀 Senior comp standings update!!

With one more week of regular games before semis for our comps things are really starting to heat up!

In our Women's League the U18 girls took their first loss to Storm.
Thunder are continuing to be a close rival to everyone and our U16 girls are still jumping from strength to strength each week,

Our Men's A league has had a wee shuffle with SuperSonics sliding into first place and MBC old boys dropping down to second.
Jellyfam have picked up 2 more wins and our MBC Senior A team are still challenging every team with more unfortunately close losses. These Men's A semis are going to be games you don't want to miss!

Mixed Grade is still a tight race with Toa and Wairau, both tied with wins and only dropping a game to each other! Donuts have managed to climb into third, Nearly Headless Knicks still giving it their all and challenging each team weekly.
Kaikoura has been able to make more games and its awesome seeing there dedication to come all that way each week!

Our Men's B grade couldn't be closer!
With only one more game before semis and having 5 teams tied for 2nd place we have some very important games coming up next week!
Gilas now hold 1st place alone proving to be a force that wont go down easy.
There have been multiple position changes but more notably United leaping up to 2nd place, really throwing a spanner in the works this late into the season!
If you want to watch some close and great basketball come down next Wednesday to see some of these teams fight it out!
Some teams are separated by no more than 5 points difference!

Reminder to everyone that Finals are played on the 19th of June and we would love to see everyone down there supporting the teams that make it through!
