This week is National Volunteer Week! 🙌

Tennis in Aotearoa relies on so many hardworking and passionate volunteers. This week we're celebrating a small number of volunteers who continuously show up for their community.

Kerie Smith in Marlborough totally embodies the volunteer spirit. Since joining Tennis Marlborough as Treasurer in 2022, she's done it all - from redesigning marketing materials and creating a new logo, to running tournaments, securing grants, handling IT, and even stepping in as volunteer administrator for an entire year!

Thank you, Kerie, for everything you do. 🙏

A mega weekend in Timaru for the annual King’s Birthday 10s & 13s South Island Teams Event with Tasman finishing 2nd overall 🥈

An incredible achievement, especially considering we were a full Marlborough team competing under the Tasman banner. The team showed fantastic determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament 🔵 🔴

What an epic day today at the Marlborough Tennis Club for our inaugural Gardiner Challenge – Red vs Blue 🎾

With this years Gardiner Trophy not going ahead, due to Nelson being unable to field a full team, 52 Marlborough children alongside 4 Nelson children were split into two teams and played it out for the 2026 Gardiner Challenge.

A fantastic day of tennis, sportsmanship, teamwork and fun for everyone involved. Congratulations to Team Red on taking out the fixture 29–27 in a nail-biting finish! 🔴🏆🔵

Honoured to represent New Zealand at the recent U14 ITF World Junior Tennis Asia/Oceania Qualifying Event in Malaysia 🇳🇿🎾

Proud of our team for an outstanding effort, finishing 8th overall against strong international competition. A special thank you to our team manager Pippy for the support throughout the campaign.
