Join us on Omaha Beach this Sunday, 21 June at 10am for our annual mid-winter swim.

Whether you’re diving in, or simply cheering from the beach, everyone is welcome.

A gold coin donation (or more!) is appreciated, with all proceeds going towards the important work of the Omaha Beach Surf Life Saving club.

Different uniforms, same mission.🚨

Recently our Omaha Search and Rescue crew joined forces with Matakana Volunteer Fire Brigade for some joint training.

We're currently raising funds to send our local fire and surf rescue volunteers to a Calm Under Pressure™ workshop, helping our crews stay calm and perform at their best when it matters most. 💪

You beauty.😍

Safe to say we're pretty stoked with the newest addition to the fleet. 🌊⚡️

Thanks to an incredibly generous anonymous donor, Omaha SLSC now has a brand new rescue jetski!

This awesome asset means faster response times and better coverage for our wider community, particularly around Tawharanui and Goat Island.

Of course, we couldn't resist putting it through its paces with a few rescue demos.

A HUGE thank you to our mystery legend for making this happen. We can't wait to see the difference this will make for our members and our community for years to come. 🖤💚💙

Qualified crew 🚤 🌊

Big congratulations to our newest IRB crew and drivers. 👏

Jess M, Jess F, Mike, Luke H, Elodie and Phil all gained their Crewpersons Award, while Kalan, Luke and Greg passed their driver exams - officially becoming Senior Lifeguards.

Waipu served up some testing conditions but the crew stepped up and smashed it 💪

Massive thanks as well to Flynn, Jayden, Rob and Bella for all the work getting everyone across the line 🙌

Save the date for one of Omaha’s favourite winter traditions - the Mid Winter Swim is back!

Come down at 10am on Sunday 21 June for a morning of equal parts madness, laughter, and community spirit at beautiful Omaha Beach.

After the swim, warm up with drinks and pastries kindly hosted by the awesome The Superette - Omaha Beach and Victoria Turner - Ray White Omaha down on the beach.

Level Up 👊

Massive effort from William Coombe, Sam Handford, Zara Williamson and Ruby Whitaker completing the Surf Life Saving Northern Region Youth Development Camp on Motutapu Island last week.

Training alongside 60+ lifeguards from across the country - building leadership, teamwork, and pushing past the comfort zone.

Backed by a strong group of instructors, including our own Stella Stanley-Hunt. 👏

Our Rookie Lifeguard crew wrapped up a solid season - putting in the work, learning real skills, and getting a taste of life on patrol. 🌊

Next up → winter training and sitting their exams. 📚

Big performances from our Omaha crew at Nationals on the East Coast 🌊

Four days of fast, flat racing delivered some incredible results!

🔥Highlights:

• Jess Fitzgerald - standout first Senior Nationals, 18th in Surf Race + multiple finals
• Kane - 6th in U17 Sprints & Flags, plus strong performances across age groups
• Oly Gipps - 5th in the 2km Beach Run (back-to-back top 5), plus Surf Race and Run Swim Run finals
• Jamie - Open Board final, finishing 8th after a tight sprint finish
• Flynn - securing Open finals in both Surf Race and Run Swim Run

Ben, Jamie & Tobey bringing home Omaha’s first ever Open National medal with 2nd in the Board Relay. 🥈

Easter training done right! 👊

Swim from the northern groynes across to Ti Point Wharf pushing through some solid current, followed by coastal familiarisation and patient transfers off the rocks into the IRBs and RWC (mannequin didn’t complain 😅).

Good conditions, solid training, and a crew getting sharper every session.
