The catβs out of the bag, 85N and McKenzie Motorsports are back in the Superstock ranks! It was unexpected, but it felt amazing to be back on the dirt.
Just over two weeks ago, Morgan and I collected the former 32C Toyota-powered Keith Gill chassis of Mitch Berry. Huge thanks Aaron Gray for giving me the opportunity to drive his car and to Dad (Bruce) for all his hard work preparing the car for two action packed Easter weekend nights. Thanks also to Morgan for putting up with the late nights and Anthony for his help on race night!
Saturday at Eastern States Speedway saw our new package on rails, thanks to set up guidance from Jayden Ward. We started the night off by winning Heat 1, finishing 4th in Heat 2 and another Heat 3 win!
Sunday at Nelson Speedway started strong with a Heat 1 win but Race 2 ended with a P9 after spinning and Race 3 saw us spun again and then held up while battling for the lead. Despite the setbacks, it was a positive debut with plenty to build on over the winter for next season.
Massive thanks to everyone who made this possible,
Steve from AG Cartage for coming on board for the weekend
Charlie and Shane at Hi Reach Access Solutions for the support these past few weeks and lending of a trailer
Jayden Ward for guidance with car setup
Dion from NVD Logistics for helping collect and return parts to Nelson
Leon from LG Creative - Sign Studio for the signage
Josh from System Decal for designing our new numbers, we canβt wait to see your ideas for next season!
Keep an eye on our socials for exciting updates over the off-season.
If anyone is interested in partnering with McKenzie Motorsports for next season, please reach out as weβd love to hear from you.
Until the next update, stay tuned!
Dale.
