Basketball South Otago are running trials for selection into a Year 7-8 Boys team to attend the Waitaki Basketball Tournament in Oamaru (July 4–6).

Fitting during National Volunteer Week that we were able to help out the legends at the Balclutha Volunteer Fire Brigade with a bit of active fun last night as part of their training.

Tug of War, Bubble Balls, Bombardment and Dodge Ball. Great to see the intensity, and to be fair there were some balls thrown that fast that Patches O'Houlihan would have been proud of!

In all seriousness, it was very cool to have the crew along. They’re busy people who do an amazing job for our community day in and day out. On top of all of that they also take the time to help us out with our Night ’n Day Rainbow Run and Stride, Ride and Slide events. Great stuff.

Applications are now open for the Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa major funding round!

Got an idea that will help tamariki and rangatahi get active? Tū Manawa funding can help make it happen.

This activation fund is designed to support the delivery of play, active recreation, and sport opportunities for tamariki and rangatahi across Otago. Community groups, sports clubs, schools, councils, and other local organisations can apply for grants of up to $30,000.

Don't miss this opportunity to secure funding and make a positive impact in your community.

Applications for this major funding round will close on July 31.
