A little sneak peak of my favourite birthday gift for my daughter’s 2nd birthday…don’t worry, she doesn’t have Instagram 😜

I hope she is obsessed with this Mini Hoshi set as I am ❤️❤️

You’ve been “practising” your chipping.

You’re hitting it great on the practice ground but then you play on the course, and it isn’t reflected in your scores 🤔

Here’s why 👇

❌ You’re hitting the same shot over and over again.

❌ Your practice doesn’t look anything like what you face on the course.

❌ There are no real life consequences.

❌ You haven’t actually practised on the course.

Good chipping practice isn’t about hitting 50 balls from the same spot and figuring it out by the 10th shot. This can be effective if you are struggling with strike, but ultimately won’t help you to make more ‘up and downs’ when you are under pressure on the course.

It’s about learning to adapt to every shot…the first time you’re faced with it.

Different lies.
Different distances.
Different targets.
Different clubs.
Different consequences.

Your practice should challenge you to make decisions, execute the shot and deal with the result - just like you have to on the course. The goal of practice is not to hit the perfect shot every time, it’s to develop a memory bank of data and shots that allow you to respond more effectively in real life.

If you want your short game to improve on the course, start practising like you actually play. ⛳️

Having kids has changed what golf means to me. ❤️

It used to be a grind. Serious. Competitive. And honestly… not always that much fun.

But having a kid has completely changed the way I look at it.

Golf doesn’t have to mean 6 hours away from your family.

Sometimes it’s an afternoon eating ice blocks, hitting a few golf balls and then having a race to see who can pick up the most.

Sometimes it’s 3 holes in a cart followed by hot chippies. 🍟

Sometimes it’s listening to music and putting while my toddler chases my ball around.

And sometimes, if I’m really lucky, I get to sneak out for 9 or even 18 holes and remember what it feels like to actually play golf. 🏌🏼‍♀️

Like most things in life, golf will be whatever you make of it.

I don’t want to choose between being a golfer and being a mum, so I’m doing my best to blend both parts of me.

Because golf doesn’t have to compete with family life.

Sometimes, it can be part of it. ❤️

If you’re a golfing mum trying to find your way back to the game or figuring out how to bring your kids into it…you’re in the right place. ⛳️
