🇨🇭Just received a lovely message from my client and friend James.
James and I have known each other since around 2012, and over the years I’ve had the pleasure of fitting him on quite a few of his many bikes. James loves a beautiful custom-built bike almost as much as I enjoy designing the geometry for them!
This latest project started back in November 2025, when James came in for a full sizing session on our bike fit machine. This allowed us to work from a completely blank canvas and dial in his ideal position and custom frame numbers before a frame even existed.
From there, I drafted a full BikeCAD report and designed the geometry around James and the position we had established during the fit. After some collaboration with the design team at Mosaic, the final geometry was signed off and his completely custom R6T-Zero went into production.
The result is a genuinely one-of-a-kind Mosaic R6T-Zero, built around geometry designed specifically for James and finished with an absolutely amazing custom paint job.
We managed to get James back in for the final fitting during my last Auckland bike fit visit, just in time for his upcoming cycling trip across Switzerland.
Fast forward to yesterday and this lovely message arrived:
“Hi Craig, finished our ride across Switzerland. The new bike frame has been fantastic. You’ve done a brilliant job. Thank you!”
Messages like this genuinely mean a lot.
Seeing someone enjoy their bike at the level James does is exactly what keeps us as bike fitters motivated to keep refining every last detail. When you’re designing a custom frame from the ground up, the smallest details in position and geometry can make the biggest difference to how the finished bike feels and rides.
Thanks for the kind words, James. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you and your many bikes over all these years. Enjoy that incredible Mosaic!
