Date / Time: Tuesday 19th December, 1:00pm –5:00pm. No of Volunteers: 15
Location: 195 Federal St. This is the Mission Back entrance car park, please sign in with our Volunteer Coordinator Taylor Payne at the top of the carpark by the large double doors and await instructions. There is no available onsite parking and there is very limited street parking. Please do not arrive at the front entrance, this will not be accessible for volunteers.
Point of contact for the day: Taylor Payne, David Ciurlionis, 09 303 9781.
Clothing: Volunteers need to wear comfortable clothing and closed flat shoes, suitable for light physical activity.
Activity: You will be either assisting to sort donated presents in our present room. Or sorting and packing food in our onsite foodbank, or doing general cleaning and tidying work. It will be directed by Mission staff on the day.
Valuables: Please note we don’t have any secure storage for your valuables while onsite, we do have an upstairs room you can leave things, but there will be lots of people coming and going so we would advise you to not bring anything of value, we haven’t had any issues with this in the past, but you need to be aware of that before you come.

Considerations: Our Hobson St branch is incredibly busy in December. We run 300 assessments a day and we have large queues out the door. Upwards of 500 people can be on site at any one time. Volunteers working in the foodbank may have some interaction with our clients and will be briefed accordingly on the day by our foodbank manager.
Volunteers must be over the age of 18. If children/minors are brought in on the day, they and their parent or guardian will be asked to leave.
Please refrain from photographing or videoing our clients. You are welcome to photograph or video yourself and other members of your group, but please be considerate of others when doing so and ensure that clients are not in the background.
