JOHN GRIFFITH MEMORIAL SHIELD 🏆

It’s been a some time since we’ve had an interclub tournament, so yesterday’s little tournament was a pretty big deal for us!

Thankfully the weather eased off by kick-off and the rain held out until we were all done. Over 30 players turned up across our senior teams and were split into mixed groups for a bit of friendly competition.

Congratulations to A BETTER NAME THAN #2 — Kaushik, Kayla, Uday, George, Matteo & Charlotte — for taking out the overall win!

A big thank you to everyone who showed up, helped with set-up and pack-down, to both Alis for cooking, our rezzies and the Holyoake whānau for the BBQ kai, and our senior teams for putting on the after-match kai.

A good day, plenty of laughs, a bit of competition and plenty of whanaungatanga.

Already looking forward to the next one!

Signing out,

Ōtāhuhu United AFC

2026 was the year for many great moments at Ōtāhuhu United AFC.

One of those was having a Men’s Reserves team back at our club.

Led by Oscar, this team has poured so much into their football, their team and into our wider club.

To our Men’s Reserves, thank you for the mahi, the laughs, the support and for showing up for one another throughout the season.

A special way to finish the year, celebrating each other with personalised awards and recognising the people who made this team what it was.

We’re proud to have you all part of the Ō.U whānau.

We had two events running today ⚽️

Our U15 Raiders End of Season Prizegiving and our Seniors Interclub 7-a-side Tournament!

Our Raiders team manager, Suli, organised a full day of awesome experiences for the team to finish their season on a high. The day ended with an afternoon of celebrating each other, alongside their whānau and families.

Our senior teams also got together for some mixed 7-a-side matches, with only one team able to take home the club shield. (No photos - boo, Stephen).

An awesome day of football, followed by some hearty shared kai. Thank you to Stephen for running the tournament, Tash for sorting the spread for everyone, and to both Alis for putting on such a delicious meal.

We love seeing our fields buzzing with people, our whānau together, and tables full of kai surrounding us. These are the moments that make our club what it is.

Until next time, we’ll see everyone soon, if not before, then next season!
