🇳🇿🏏 TRANS-TASMAN – DAY THREE WRAP 🇦🇺🏏

Australia continued their dominance on Day Three of the Masters Trans-Tasman, wrapping up all six grades, but there were some fantastic contests and memorable moments for New Zealand throughout the day.

The 55s produced one of the games of the tournament in their opening test. Australia posted a massive 145, but New Zealand took up the challenge and chased it down, securing an incredible victory off the final ball. Australia responded by winning the second match to take an unassailable 4–2 series lead, with one test remaining tomorrow.

The 40s and 50s both produced much closer contests today, but Australia continued their unbeaten runs and now lead both series 6–0.

The first game of the day saw the NZ Women break through for a well-deserved victory in an absolute thriller, holding on 103–101. Australia bounced back in the afternoon test and now lead the series 5–1.

The 35s went down in their opening test of the day to fall 5–0 behind, before producing one of the most remarkable matches of the week on the show court.

New Zealand scored just 31 – but then produced an outstanding defensive effort to restrict Australia to only 21 and take the win. An old-school, low-scoring indoor cricket battle featuring some amazing cricket from both sides. 🇳🇿💪

Australia have now secured all six series and thoroughly deserve their overall Trans-Tasman victory, but New Zealand showed plenty of fight today with some outstanding performances across the grades.

One test remains for every team tomorrow as we bring the 2026 Masters Trans-Tasman to a close.

🇳🇿🏏 TRANS-TASMAN – DAY TWO WRAP 🇦🇺🏏

Australia wrapped up the overall Masters Trans-Tasman on Day Two after another dominant day on court in Auckland.

The Women, 35s, 40s and 50s all suffered two losses today, giving Australia unassailable 4–0 leads in all four best-of-seven series.

After providing New Zealand’s highlight on Day One, the 55s couldn’t back it up today, going down in both tests as Australia moved out to a 3–1 series lead.

The 45s also started the day 2–0 down and lost the morning test to fall 3–0 behind. But the defending champions responded strongly in the afternoon, taking their first win of the series and keeping it alive at 3–1 to Australia. 🇳🇿💪

A tough opening two days for the New Zealand teams against a very strong Australian contingent, with Australia deservedly securing the overall Trans-Tasman.

But there is still plenty to play for. The 45s and 55s series remain alive, while the other four teams will be looking to turn things around and finish their series strongly.

🇳🇿🏏 TRANS-TASMAN – DAY ONE WRAP 🇦🇺🏏

Australia dominated the opening day of the Masters Trans-Tasman in Auckland, with two matches played across each grade and the visitors taking the early advantage in the series.

The 35s had a tight battle in their opening match before Australia pulled away, and were then outperformed in game two.

The 40s produced the lowest-scoring contests of the day, going down 54–37 in the opener before Australia also claimed the second match.

Three of our teams came into the tournament as defending Trans-Tasman champions – the Women, 45s and 50s – but all three found the opening day tough.

The 45s suffered two losses by around 40 runs, while the Women didn’t get the start they wanted in game one but showed plenty more grit in their second match. The 50s also suffered two losses as Australia continued their strong opening day.

That left the 55s to provide the NZ highlight. After going down by 20 runs while chasing in their opening match, they rallied strongly in game two and took a 13-run victory in a fantastic finish.

Australia needed 7 runs from the final ball to tie the match, but New Zealand held their nerve, took the wicket and secured NZ’s only victory of the opening day. 🇳🇿💪

A challenging first day against a very strong Australian contingent, but there is plenty of cricket still to be played.

🇳🇿 NZ MASTERS TRANS-TASMAN IS UNDERWAY! 🇳🇿

The NZ Masters campaign officially kicked off yesterday, with our teams getting together for their first training sessions at Waitakere before checking into the Pullman and settling in for a huge week ahead.

This morning all of our teams are back into training at the Central, putting the finishing touches on preparations before the Trans-Tasman action gets underway.

🇳🇿 2026 New Zealand Junior World Series Teams Announced 🇿🇦

Following four days of outstanding competition at the 2026 New Zealand Junior Provincial Championships, Indoor Cricket New Zealand is proud to announce the teams selected to represent New Zealand at this year's WICF Junior World Series in Pretoria, South Africa.

Congratulations to our 60 players, together with their coaches, managers and support staff, who have earned the opportunity to wear the Silver Fern on the international stage.

Selection in a New Zealand team is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work shown by each player over many years. We also acknowledge the families, clubs and associations whose ongoing support has helped these young athletes reach this milestone.

The touring party represents six associations from across New Zealand and will compete against the world's best junior indoor cricket players in what promises to be an exciting week of international competition.

Congratulations to everyone selected. We wish all of our players and officials every success as they proudly represent New Zealand at the 2026 WICF Junior World Series.
