Allstars Sports Club At Allstars Netball, every player is challenged to grow from first steps to elite levels. Our focus is on developing players at every stage.

At Allstars, we combine a competitive edge with a true family atmosphere. From first time Netball players to seasoned competitors, with clear pathways for progression and growth. We believe hard work, positive sideline behaviour, and supporting one another are just as important as achieving goals on the court. Here, every player is valued, every achievement is celebrated, and together we chase excellence both on and off the court.

Every umpire starts somewhere.

If we expect children to have the courage to pick up a whistle, we also have a responsibility to provide an environment where they feel safe to learn, grow and make mistakes.

Just like our players, young umpires are developing their skills, building confidence and doing their very best. A missed call isn't an invitation for criticism, it's an opportunity for encouragement.

This Saturday is Lollipop Round at Success Netball Association 🍭

Let's all do our part to create a positive environment for everyone on and around our courts.

Think before you speak.

Because the words we choose today can determine whether a young umpire comes back next week.

I’ve discovered that one of the most thankless jobs a person can undertake is volunteering to coach junior girls’ netball. Surprisingly, the hardest part isn’t getting 11 and 10 year-olds to listen or follow instructions. It’s managing the occasional parent who has somehow confused Saturday morning junior netball with selection trials for the Australian Diamonds.

There’s a particular type of parent who is mysteriously unavailable whenever volunteers are needed, yet suddenly becomes incredibly invested when it comes to court time, positions and their child’s apparently untapped sporting potential. They’ve never put their hand up to coach, score or help, but they have conducted a comprehensive assessment from the sideline and would like it noted that their daughter is being played out of position.

The delicate part is when there’s a fairly substantial gap between the player the parent believes they have produced and the player I’ve been coaching all season. Because there’s simply no polite way to say, “I admire your confidence in her, but Netball Australia is unlikely to be calling this week.”

So you smile, explain that it’s a team sport and quietly wonder how a voluntary role has turned you into a coach, diplomat and hostage negotiator.

Turns out junior sport isn’t just about developing children. It’s also about managing the expectations of adults trying to live vicariously through them 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Congratulations to our very own Jordyn 💚

This year, Jordyn has also continued to give back to our young players by umpiring for our Allstars Sharks every week while also guiding and mentoring our new trainee umpires. 💚🏐

We appreciate you Jordyn 👏👏🫶

Congratulations to our WM New Zealand, Volunteer of the month for June, Jordyn Kidwell.

Jordyn shares her time across Netball Waitākere and Kaipara Netball Centre in various volunteer roles, including, Coach, Umpire & Umpire Coach.

Here's what her Nominator had to say about her;
"Jordyn lives and breathes netball! Always at the courts setting up, packing up, coaching and umpiring, helping the players improve, encouraging them all through the years, building a fantastic netball community with players, parents, coaches, umpires… sharing their knowledge and love x"

Thank you for all you do for our Netball communities Jordyn 🫶
