The work behind the NZ jersey. 🎙️

New Zealand touch player Preston Broadhurst joins Tai and new guest host Sione for the latest Behind The Gear episode, filmed at Players Sports Greenlane.

Preston talks about progressing from junior touch to the New Zealand Open team, the pride of representing his family and country, and the running, training camps and sacrifice that come with playing at that level. He also shares his goal of making the team for the 2028 Touch World Cup and his advice for young players coming through.

It’s Sione’s first time hosting, joining us from the Players Sports Onehunga team.

Sorry about the mic crackle in a few spots. We’ll work on fixing it for the next episode.

The full episode is live now on YouTube and Spotify.

Know the racket before you recommend it. 📚

Another staff tech session this week, this time getting hands on with the latest Wilson tennis racket range ahead of our annual Tennis Demo & Deal Day this Sunday.

Our retail teams from Players Sports Greenlane, Onehunga and the Tennis Pro Shop came together at the TotalCoach Tennis Centre in St Johns, Auckland to work through the Wilson range and spend time hitting with the rackets on court.

The session covered the latest Wilson Pro Staff, RF 01, Blade, Clash and Ultra families, along with the new Wilson Defyer, which has quickly become a popular addition to the range.

For us, product knowledge goes beyond reading the specs. Getting our team on court helps them understand how each racket actually feels, the differences between the families and which type of player each model is best suited to.

That knowledge will be put to good use this Sunday at our Tennis Demo & Deal Day, where you can hit with and compare the latest rackets from Wilson and the other major tennis brands, with coaches, brand representatives and our team there to help.

📆 Sunday 11 October, 10am to 3pm
