We’re incredibly proud to share with you all that our live stream partners, Waddell (through their work in school sport) has been awarded He Tohu mō te Whakarangatira i te Reo (Language Leadership Award) at the 2025 Ngā Tohu Reo Māori awards.

This recognition acknowledges their Hākinakina Rangatahi (school sport) initiative, delivered in partnership with Whakaata Māori, where they integrate bilingual commentary, reo Māori vocabulary, and tikanga into more than 100 school sport broadcasts each year.
Their goal, and ours, with this kaupapa has been to make te reo Māori normalised, celebrated, and visible in the spaces young people already love.

We’re deeply grateful to Rob and the team at Waddell, & Whakaata Māori, for their partnership, to Te Taura Whiri i te Reo Māori, and to every sponsor, kura, commentator, and community that has supported the Waddell Group and UNISS's journey thus far.
