So, took the new fixie out for a spin today, but I’m wondering if I should maybe have gone with a smaller chainring….
Each rotation of the cranks sees the bike travel 21.55m, and according to my computer, I managed 51 kph with a cadence of 40rpm. (In the limited space I had to start, and stop)Calculations by the owner would see 60rpm 77.58kph, 80rpm 103.44kph, 90rpm 116.37kph and 100rpm 129.3kph. The bike was originally designed for a speed record behind a car. But if anyone is feeling super strong, the human powered record in New Zealand (unassisted) is 83kph. Who wants a go………. Thanks to for letting us have this in the museum. !
