💡 Let's talk strength training
The benefits of strength training are too glorious not to get excited about.
How many times have we heard the phrase, “I just want to tone”
Well, ladies, we hate to break it to you, but “toning” means “building muscle". These muscles you are building are not just there for the bikini season either, nope, these are here to support you through all of life’s tasks, the aging process and more.
The benefits are endless - but these are our favourites:
⭐ Metabolism
While cardio training burns more calories per hour, in that workout hour, strength training enables the body’s metabolism to continue burning fat for far longer than just the workout time. The more muscle we have, the higher our metabolism is and the more energy we burn at rest.
⭐ Bones
It’s important to note that strength training builds more than just muscle.
Strong muscles correlate to stronger bones. Maintaining muscle mass is vital to not only slow down the rate of bone loss but can reduce the effects of osteoporosis/osteoarthritis as we age.
⭐ Hormones
Strength training causes a release of human growth hormones in both women and men. This aids in building muscle, burning fat, controlling blood sugar, and lowering your risk of insulin resistance or Type 2 Diabetes.
Strength training also impacts estrogen, which decreases the risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, and general hormone dysregulation.
We have witnessed women working through chronic pain, building a strong foundation for their bodies and their health. The confidence, excitement and zest for life that returns to these women is WHY we do what we do.
Implement a strength program into your routine. Not just for a season. Not just for aesthetics.
🤍 For the YOU that carries your kids, their bags, their toys and the groceries at the same time
🤍 The YOU that may have a fall in your old age
🤍 The YOU that may feel unconfident
It’s for all of YOU.
