Context for Nerds🥸⬇️
Exercise: Good
Exercises you can add weight to conveniently: Better
Every exercise can be progressed or regressed with some level of ingenuity so you can meet yourself where you need to utilize it. The people who pit exercises against each other by slapping a "functional" label on them simply don't understand exercise's benefits and/or have very little experience in modifying exercises themselves to fit individuals.
People utilizing this type of messaging typically are doing so to be purposefully obtuse for marketing reasons or they have never trained a real person in their life. Neither are a smart reflection of their knowledge base or experience.
If someone's goal is to encourage people to be more active, then branding exercises as "functional" and by extension others "dysfunctional" is a pretty disingenuous way to go about it, and I would argue a disservice to an entire audience.
If you still don't know where to start, let's talk about it.
