University rugby club was established in 1888. The following was written by Sir Colin Maiden in 2006-07 and provides an insight into the development of sporting facilities at Auckland University. Maiden was Vice-chancellor of Auckland University from 1971 to 1994. lin's vision in ensuring that sporting facilities are an integral part of a complete tertiary education. This has built the foundation of the rugby club which has a strong sense of community. The club has produced many greats, and many successful people who have gone on to do great things in life. Many players leave the club having made life long friends as well as being part of a great network. The rugby at the club is strong, and the club boasts a very great culture. Our premier team gear bag has been stolen from the club early Sunday morning. Our club is based on Merton Rd and we are asking for people in the area to help us find it.

The bag contains jerseys, shorts and socks for our premier team.

If anyone knows anything about this, please get in touch.

A small Koha will be awarded for if we can find the bag before the weekend.

Premiers head to Gribblehirst Park to take on Eden in a big Round 3 clash, while Prem 2 travel to Papatoetoe. Colts back at Colin Maiden against Otahuhu, and the Slugs and Squids go head to head in a club derby.
