Weekend tip: DON'T SKIP TWICE
Life is full of unpredictable moments & circumstances. There will always be kids schedules, work schedules, sick days, travelling, uncontrollable circumstances ...... that's life.
Slipping on habits doesn't mean you've failed. It means you're human.
That's why it's so important to learn how to work around these uncontrollable moments & not let them derail you entirely for weeks or months at a time.
What separates the successful person is the ability to get back to routine quickly.
Hence the don't skip twice rule of thumb.
Maybe I'll miss one workout, but I'm not going to miss two in a row. Maybe I'll eat a burger, enjoy a date night & birthday party, but I'll follow it by making my next meal an on-plan one.
Life is meant to be lived. Food & drink are a huge part of life so learning to take away the judgment, shame & guilt because of a glass of wine, donut or pizza is important. BUT so too, is realizing how much better your body feels when you eat healthy nutritious food most of the time.
Balance & moderation. Eat an off-plan meal & enjoy, but follow it with a healthy one. One salad doesn't get you to your goals, just like one donut doesn't take you completely off course.
Before I achieved my current lifestyle, I used to always wonder how the successful people seemed to eat whatever they wanted without guilt, but the truth is, once I achieved it for myself, I realized it's not the all or nothing that gets you there or allows you to maintain it.
It's actually the simple things like 'don't skip twice'.
The reason the successful can eat pizza, donuts or enjoy a glass of wine is because we always get back to our normal routine immediately. What happens MOST of the time matters far more than what only happens SOME of the time.
Keep that in mind moving forward & through the upcoming weekend.
