Good luck to our Blackjacks in the final of the Australian Open today!

Defending Champions Selina Goddard and her pairs partner Chloe Stewart play the Women's Pairs Final at 1.30pm NZT (approx). This game is being broadcast live on Sky Sport NZ.

Following that match, Mark Noble plays the Men's Disability Final at 4pm NZT (approx). This game will be streamed on Bowls Australia's YouTube channel.

As the journey to the Commonwealth Games continues, it takes a whole team to bring it to life — from the players chasing their goals on the green to the people working behind the scenes.

Steve Sargent is part of that wider team, taking on the role of International Technical Official and helping ensure everything runs smoothly at the highest level.

It’s a great example of how our sport comes together — players, officials, volunteers and supporters — all playing their part.

For Volunteer Week, we’re taking a moment to acknowledge Alan Jones, winner of the Gallagher Insurance Volunteer of the Year at the 2026 Canterbury Sports and Recreation Awards.

Alan has given more than five decades of service to the Leeston Bowls Club. As greenkeeper, he helped bring the club’s facilities up to Bowls New Zealand national standard, supporting Leeston to host section play during the 2026 National Singles and Pairs.

A well-deserved recognition for an incredible contribution to community sport. 🙌
