Fill in the blank: "I kept going today even when ___."

Drop yours below - I'll go first: even when the kids were testing my last nerve and takeaways felt tempted... but I kept going 💪 😅

Pic of tonight's dinner - chicken + veggie noodle stirfry

"𝙈𝙚𝙡, 𝙄'𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙥𝙥𝙚𝙙 𝙨𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩'𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩?"

Here's what I want you to hear... 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. Every time you've come back to yourself, to movement, to feeling like you - that's not a pattern of failure. That's a pattern of choosing yourself, over and over, no matter how many times life knocked you off track.

I'm just a little bit competitive 😄 - with myself, mostly. And what I've learned is that the version of me who keeps coming back, even after a rubbish week, is way stronger than the version who never had a rubbish week to begin with.

You're not "starting over." You're just continuing - with more life experience than last time.

I used to do 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘺 - but then this simple change helped me to stop failing.

I'd sit there and plan the "perfect" week. Every session mapped out, every meal sorted, no slip ups allowed. And the second something went sideways - a late night with the kids, an urgent deadline, a skipped session, a takeaway I didn't plan for - that was it. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝘄𝗮𝘀 "𝗿𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱," 𝘀𝗼 𝗜'𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻.

Sound familiar?

𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦... one missed session isn't a failed week. One meal isn't a failed day. It's just... a moment. And the very next thing you do gets to be the thing that counts.

So today, instead of planning a "perfect" week, I'm just planning a 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 one. A few sessions I know I can actually get to even on my busiest day. Simple meals based on real nutritious ingredients and I don't need to spend an hour or even 30mins in the kitchen cooking. And permission, in advance, to not do it perfectly hearts 💕

What does your realistic (not perfect) week look like? Let me know me below 👇 or pop me a message.

If today's wins post resonated and something in you went "𝘺𝘦𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵'𝘴 𝘮𝘦, 𝘐'𝘮 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺" - I want you to keep reading 😊

Because that feeling? That "𝘐'𝘮 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴" feeling?

That's not nothing. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴. And I don't want you to scroll past it and let it disappear into your Friday night 💙

This is what working with me actually looks like...

We start with a 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 - just you and me, no pressure, no judgement. I want to know where you're at, what you've tried before, what's worked, what hasn't, what's going on in your life and 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭. Because you are not a one size fits all human. And I don't coach that way.

Then we train. 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽𝘀 - 𝗺𝗮𝘅𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗺 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀. Each sessions is semi-personalised because I know you, I know your body and I know what you're working toward.

It's warm. It's welcoming. It's the kind of place where a woman walks in for the first time and says "𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘰 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨 - 𝘐'𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘧𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦." 💕

Because that's what we've built here. Not a gym. A community 🤗

✨️ 𝟮𝟴-𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 - $𝟭𝟵𝟵
The most supported way to start. Personal consult with me, up to four small group personalised sessions a week, full Move Nourish Thrive access included. Spring is here and there is genuinely no better time 🌱

🎉 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹 - $𝟰𝟵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟰 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀
If you need the flexibility of home first - workouts, recipes, nutrition guides, mindset support and a beautiful community of women, all from your phone. Then just $28 a week after that, no lock-in.

𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗱. Even just a "𝘏𝘦𝘺 𝘔𝘦𝘭, 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦" is the perfect place to start 😊

I genuinely love these conversations. And I would love to have one with you 💙

Smiles,
Mel 😊

And oh my goodness, what a week it has been in this little community of ours 💙

The "Strong is ___" post earlier this week? I sat and read every single comment/message and honestly I could have cried. You women are incredible. The things you said. The moments you shared. Strong is getting through a week that nearly broke you. Strong is making it to school pickup without losing the plot 😄 Strong is doing the thing even when nobody's watching.

Every. Single. One. ❤️

And then yesterday, the lawns post. The messages I got from women telling me what their non-exercise movement looked like. The school run. The housework. The stairs. The grocery carry. The squats while watching Nluey with the kids ;) Women going "oh wait, that counts?!" YES. It counts. It all counts. And the fact that you noticed it - that awareness of going 'actually, I did move today' - that is a shift. A real one 💙

The mini challenge crew this week 💪 Squats, push ups, dips and wall sits in lounges and backyards and bedroom corners. Done. No gym. No perfect conditions. Just got it done.
And the women who messaged me this week saying they're ready. Like genuinely ready. Not "I'll start Monday" or "I'll wait until after the school holidays" or "I'll start when things settle down." Just I'm ready now. This is my time. I'm making the decision.

THAT one gets me every time 🥲

Because that decision - that moment of going "you know what, I'm not waiting anymore" - that is everything. That is where it all starts. Not the perfect programme. Not the perfect week. Just the decision to begin exactly where you are.

So here we are. Friday. End of the first week of spring 🌱

What's your win this week? I genuinely want to hear it - the workouts, the lawns, the strong moments, the decisions. Let me know, drop a comment below 👇 or pop me a message

I did the lawns today. And yes that counts 😄

Clients this morning, computer work in between, and then out with the lawn mower in the afternoon between client sessions. Not exactly what most people picture when they think "fitness coach's Thursday" 😄

But here's the thing - and I mean this genuinely - movement doesn't have to be a structured workout to be valuable. Sometimes it's the lawns. Sometimes it's the school run on foot. Sometimes it's chasing the kids around the backyard or choosing the stairs or stretching while the kettle boils.

Your body doesn't know the difference between "official exercise" and just moving. It just knows it moved. And it responds accordingly.

An active rest day is not a lazy day. It's actually a really smart day. Your body is recovering from your stronger sessions while still keeping momentum - which means you come back tomorrow feeling ready rather than stiff and flat.

So if today has been a bit like mine - full on, in between things, not exactly what you planned - I want you to look back at your day and notice what movement you actually DID manage to do.

Not what you didn't do. What you DID DO.

The lawns. The walking between meetings. The standing instead of sitting. The extra trip up the stairs. The parking further away and walking. The stretching while dinner is cooking.

It all counts. Every single bit of it 🚶‍♀️

What has movement looked like for you today? Let me know below - even the unglamorous stuff 😄 👇

Wednesday Nourish 🥗 and this week protein has been my absolute non-negotiable.

Big week - new clients starting, training with my clients, my own training too (just under 9 weeks until Half Marathon), running my fitness business, doing all the mum things. And on weeks like this, the thing that keeps me feeling like an actual human being (other than movement 😉).....

Protein. First. Every single meal. ESPECIALLY within that first hour after waking up in the morning.

Not because it's some fancy diet strategy. Not because I'm trying to be perfect. But because when I eat enough protein my energy is steady, my brain works properly, I'm not reaching for snacks every five minutes, and my body can actually recover from the training I'm doing.

And here's the thing - if you're training and not eating enough protein, you are leaving SO much on the table. Your body literally cannot build and repair muscle without it. So you can work as hard as you like in your sessions, but if you're undereating protein you're not going to feel the results the way you should.

On busy weeks I keep it really simple:
🥩 Hot chicken from the supermarket - grab it, put it on everything
🥚 Boiled eggs in the fridge - done in 10 mins, lasts all week
🧴 Greek yoghurt for breakfast or snacks - quick, easy, high protein
🐟 Tinned salmon - sounds boring, tastes great in a wrap
🫘 Snack Time tins with Black Beans - LOVE these! I add it to my plates of food, my burrito bowls. Super handy just to have in the cupboard or desk ready to go.

It does not have to be complicated. It just has to happen and pairrd with that awesome consistency too 😉

What does protein look like in your day right now? I'm genuinely curious - tell me below 👇

Okay something a little different for you today 😊

I'll start... and then I want you to finish the sentence in the comments 👇

"𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 ______"

For me this week — strong is backing off my pace on my runs even though every part of me wants to go harder 😄 Strong is listening to my body while my head heals instead of pushing through and paying for it later. 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗡𝗘𝗘𝗗 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗜 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Not very glamorous. But completely real 💙

Now you. Finish the sentence for me.

It might be something physical. It might be something emotional. It might be something that has nothing to do with the fitness at all.

Strong is getting through a really hard week and still showing up.
Strong is asking for help when you need it.
Strong is choosing yourself when you've always put everyone else first.

Every version counts. Every version is worth saying out loud 🌿

Drop yours in the comments - I genuinely want to read every single one 💙

When was the last time you felt genuinely strong?

Not what the scale said. Not what size you were wearing. Not what you looked like in the mirror. Just that feeling in your body of being capable. Energised. Like everything is actually working FOR you.

Because here's what I know and have personally experienced many times... fitness is not just about looking better in your clothes or hitting a certain number on the scale or lifting a certain weight.

It's about showing up as the best version of yourself in every single area of your life.

Life can feel really full on. And when you're not feeling 100%, that affects EVERYTHING! How you show up at work, how you are in your relationship, how you speak to your children, how you react when things don't go to plan. All of it.

And that's why what we do here matters so much more than people realise.

For me personally, my sanity is that 20-30 minute workout. Lifting those weights and just feeling empowered as I do it. Or getting out for a run. This week I'm having to keep it at easy zone 2 pace while my head recovers from the concussion - and honestly? That is HARD for me 😄 I'm a little bit competitive with myself... Just a little bit ;P

But I'm listening to my body. Choosing what it needs right now. Not to punish myself, but to recover and easy back into it so I can actually show up well. And that IS strength. Even when it doesn't feel like it.

Strong is carrying all the groceries in one trip without thinking about it.
Strong is keeping up with your kids and having something left at the end of the day.
Strong is walking into a room feeling comfortable in your own skin.
Strong is choosing yourself - even on the hard weeks.

That's what we're building here. And it is available to every single woman no matter what age or stage of life you are at.

When did YOU last feel genuinely strong? Tell me in the comments 👇
