In Remembrance โ Ana Noovao
College Ri**es Netball Club is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our former club and teammate, Ana Noovao.
Ana passed away peacefully on Sunday, 9 August, in Rockhampton, Queensland, after a long illness, surrounded by her family and loved ones.
Ana was a valued member of our Premier Team from 1987 through to the mid-1990s. During this time, she was part of the team that won the National League, then known as the Bendon Cup, in 1989. That same year, the team also claimed the Auckland Netball Senior Club Championship, successfully defending the title again in 1990.
Ana was a gifted attacker whose hard work, talent and determination saw her achieve the highest honours in netball. She represented Auckland, was selected for the New Zealand Young Internationals and New Zealand Under 21 teams, and ultimately achieved the incredible honour of becoming a Silver Fern.
Ana achieved so much on the netball court, but perhaps even more importantly, she was a true inspiration to those who had the privilege of knowing and playing alongside her. Her determination, warmth and contribution to the game will be remembered by many.
From all past and present College Ri**es Netball Club members, we extend our deepest aroha to Anaโs whฤnau and friends across Aotearoa, Australia and, of course, the Cook Islands.
Rest peacefully, Ana. You will be greatly missed and forever remembered as part of the College Ri**es Netball whฤnau.
