🔵⚪🐻 Glenora Bears family – let’s make Harold Moody Park roar and put the mighty West Auckland on top!
Since we were founded back in 1931, the proud Blue and White of the Glenora Bears—the legendary "Ora"—has been the uncompromising heartbeat of Glen Eden and West Auckland rugby league. From Harold Moody Park to the mud and blood of the biggest senior battles, the Bears have spent almost a century showing the rest of the country the true meaning of grit, pride, and Waitakere powerhouse football!
This is the proud club that has bred absolute rugby league royalty and Kiwi legends. We're talking about titans of the game like Bill Sorensen, Dennis Williams, Dane O'Hara, Kelly Shelford, Jarrod McCracken, Duane Mann, Shontayne Hape, and the countless warriors who wore the blue and white with pride and helped make Carlaw Park—the undisputed spiritual home of New Zealand Rugby League—a fortress. When these warriors took the sacred field, everyone knew the Bears were going to run through brick walls for the jersey.
Through the Carlaw Park Die Hards Podcast, Gordy Gibbons and I have been on an independent, self-funded mission to ensure those priceless stories and our Auckland rugby league clubs legends are preserved forever. We are a grassroots voice doing this purely out of passion, and now we need the mighty Ora family to rally for us so we can keep doing what we love doing.
We’re officially nominated for the Listener’s Choice Award at the 2026 New Zealand Podcast Awards! This award isn't decided by corporate panels—it is 100% decided by you, the die-hard fans who stood on the terraces. Let's make our voices heard and put West Auckland right on top!
