The Auckland AFL is gearing up for another big season in 2026, kicking off with a Magic Round on Sunday 6th September, at May Road War Memorial Park in Mt Roskill. Six clubs will face off once more in the Senior Men’s competition and three Senior Women’s teams will battle it out again in a bid for another premiership.

If you're heading to Koru Games this year, keep an eye out for the AFL 'Have a go' pop up zones and come join us for some fun challenges, learn some new skills and try and win some prizes.

🏉 We’re heading to the Koru Games! 🏉

The Koru Games is a year 7/8 sports tournament and is happening on the 22–24 September. We’ll be there on Tuesday 22nd & Wednesday 23rd September at Foster Park! 🙌

📍 Tuesday: Find us by the main entrance, beside Selwyn Sports Centre.

📍 Wednesday: We’ll be down behind the touch rugby fields.

Come and see us between 10am–2pm! We’ll have a station where you can:
🏉 Have a go at an AFL challenge and win a prize.
🏉 Pick up a footy and have a throw around.
🏉 Learn some new skills and have some fun!

We’ll also be running 15-minute “Learn AFL” sessions every hour at:
⏰ 10am | 11am | 12pm | 1pm
🏆 Play AFL at the Koru Games in 2027!

Next year, we’ll be hosting an AFL tournament as part of the Koru Games, so come along this year, give AFL a go and get ready for next year! 💪🏉

The Canterbury Australian Football League returns tomorrow with a massive Grand Final rematch headlining Round 1.

Head down to QEII park to watch the University Cougars AFL Club take on the Mid Canterbury Eagles AFL Club in the season opener, before the Christchurch Bulldogs Australian Football Club look to get one up on the Blues Football Club in the grand final rematch
