We are so excited for Samara Greig, who has started a contract with the Bucharest National Opera and Ballet in Romania for the 2026–2027 season. 🩰✨

Samara has been training at Rambert School in London for the past few years, having previously trained at MEBA from the age of just three.

Always an absolute joy to have in the studio, Samara has been loved by her entire MEBA family, and it has been so special to watch her grow from a shy little three-year-old into the beautiful dancer she is today.

We wish Samara every success and happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter and starts her journey as a professional dancer. ❤️

Our dear friend and former MEBA student, Renee Schuda, is fighting for her life and urgently needs our help.

This beautiful girl has always lit up every stage she danced on — here in New Zealand, across America, and around the world as a professional dancer.

Renee now faces an incredibly difficult fight. She needs to see her beautiful daughter grow up, she needs the chance to dance again, and she needs all of us behind her.

If you can, please make a donation — no amount is too small. Every contribution can help give Renee the time, care and support she desperately needs.

Please donate and share this post far and wide.

What a wonderful week in Sydney at YAGP Semi Finals! ✨

Such an incredible standard of dancing, with dancers travelling from Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Japan and Malaysia.

We were thrilled to see our beautiful Ellie Liao place in the Top 12 Junior Men amd Women’s Classical, from a field of at least 220 dancers.

Toula and Frida MacRae-Kurmayr both placed in the Top 12 Junior Women’s Contemporary — so lovely to see them both achieve this wonderful result! ❤️

Congratulations to Finlay Hunter (), coached by our amazing teacher , on placing 3rd in the Junior Men and Women’s Classical division and 3rd in Junior Men’s Contemporary. What an outstanding achievement!

We also want to acknowledge Caitlin and Keira Caird, who were both invited to the callback class. 👏

There were also some exciting scholarship opportunities and offers received during the week — we’ll share more details about these in a separate post soon! ✨

Congratulations to all of our dancers — what an incredible week of dancing, learning and opportunities! ❤️

A special thank you to our wonderful team of teachers and coaches at MEBA. We are so lucky to have you all!

Where to start? ❤️

One of the most determined and passionate students we’ve had the privilege of teaching, Wendy Tian has always been ready to take on a challenge. Courageous, charismatic and full of personality, she has had such a wonderful presence at MEBA over the past six years.

It’s been so special watching her grow, both as a dancer and as a person, and we are incredibly excited to see where her talent and determination take her next.

We wish Wendy the very best of luck as she begins the next stage of her dance journey at Elmhurst in the United Kingdom! 🇬🇧🩰

Go well, Wendy — we have absolutely no doubt you will shine! ✨
