Our bodies really are incredible and magical - and to keep learning about them is such a gift, for ourselves and for the people we teach.

Professional development is so much more than learning more repertoire. It’s an opportunity to go deeper - to understand more about the body, to explore the art of cueing with greater intelligence and intention, and to keep developing the way we see and understand movement.

But I also think there is something really important about stepping away from our usual routines and making time for ourselves.

Time to be present in our own bodies. To move. To listen. To have conversations. To question what we know and be open to new possibilities for learning, developing our skills and continuing to grow.

That is self-care too.

Having Shelly Power and Christi Idavoy with us in New Zealand gives us the opportunity to do all of this together - to learn from their incredible depth of knowledge and experience, while also taking time to develop and nourish ourselves.

Because the more we understand ourselves and the incredible bodies we live in, the more depth, ease and possibility we can bring to the people we teach.
