Aikido is a Japanese form of self-defense and a dynamic martial art that focuses on using your opponent’s energy and momentum to apply a lock or to throw them away. Influenced by European Aikido teachers such as Christian Tissier and Bruno Gonzalez, we focus on ukemi, dynamic techniques from a variety of grabs and strikes, and weapons (jo, tanto and boken). Keiko is now living back in Japan and training with Yoko Okomoto Shihan at her dojo in Kyoto. Ngaire is an Instructor here in Auckland with Shinryukan. They are very good Ukes so if you get the chance to train with them or be in a class they teach I would recommend you jump at the chance.

Hi, I’ve dicided it’s a good idea to post my teaching schedule for the week, especially if there are some changes. Tomorrow Sunday I will be away but normal training for at helensville next week plus a visit to Whangaparoa on Thursday evening. Many thanks, Mark

I managed to get a photo with Pascal Guillemin, but have been so busy training I forgot to get my phone out. His classes are amazing, he is a fabulous teacher. Christian Tissier would not let me pay, insisting I was his guest, again the best aikido and teaching you can get anywhere in the world I believe. I want to thank all the teachers and people who train at Cercle Tissier for their welcome, hopefully I can come again next year.
