Sarah Fitzsimons
Sarah will be adjudicating our ballet comp in August! Bio below…

Sarah Fitzsimons (née Roe) began her professional dance training in Sydney before being accepted into the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. She went on to join The Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, performing works by celebrated choreographers including Sir Kenneth MacMillan, Sir David Bintley, and Sir Frederick Ashton, and touring extensively throughout the United Kingdom and the United States.
Following her classical ballet career, Sarah expanded her performance experience into contemporary dance with Darc Swan Dance Company and musical theatre, appearing in the Australian production of The Phantom of the Opera. She later served as Assistant Choreographer for the South African production of the show.
Sarah holds the Australian Ballet School’s Advanced Diploma of Ballet Teaching and is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Rambert Grades, and NZAMD. Her teaching career has included positions at The McDonald College and Brent Street in Sydney, followed by 20 years as a Classical Tutor at the New Zealand School of Dance. During this time, she also trained as a Pilates and GYROTONIC® instructor.
In addition to her teaching roles, Sarah has coached students for competitions, conducted teacher training seminars throughout New Zealand, tutored at Chilton Ballet Academy and International Summer Schools, and provided rehabilitation support for dancers with the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
Today, Sarah is the Director of Thames Hauraki Dance Theatre in her hometown of Thames, where she continues to inspire, mentor, and train the next generation of dancers.
