A wonderful gathering of the Zero Gravity coloured belts today for our mid-year grading. There was another impressive “step up” in skills demonstrated across the ranks, I swear it levels up significantly every time. It’s extraordinary, its heartwarming & it’s essential. Ranks are not “given” for “turning up”, they are earned, through true skill development & effective technique. In a world overwhelmed by the enormous amount of utter bu****it, internationally & locally, it is 100% imperative that we see real people, demonstrate real growth, in real skills & genuine connection with their peers. We couldn’t be prouder and more honoured to be part of such a wonderful group of people.
We promoted a plethora of stripes today, all individually deserved and hard earned with hours, days & years of dedication on the mats.
To top off what has already been a wonderful day, we had the absolute pleasure of promoting Billy Morgan to BJJ Black Belt. Billy is a massive influence on the mat, he impacts everyone’s jiu jitsu as well as their day, he brings honest joy & humour to the mats even on his own personal down days, he still manages to pick up everyone else’s mood & enthusiasm. Becoming the 10th Black Belt under the Zero Gravity team is fitting for such a wonderful person and effective grappler, his style has influenced many on our mats and we look forward to that continued influence throughout the whole team. It’s our honour & privilege to share the mats with you Professor Billy, congratulations & much Love.
