Lovely lady MUM at the Ryokan just out of Takayama, Gifu. She was essentric and highly amusing despite our lack of understanding. What she says translates as follows

She says tomorrow everyone must win the race (v v v) victory !

Eat well everyone.
Ikemen (=handsome to Alexander) eat well we have lots of rice

Alexander !! She finds you handsome

Well that's a wrap.. ! Gotta catch a plane. Bryns knee collapsed again during the last race DNF so no finishing the camp with an elusive SL finish for Bryn. Both boys have benefited from superb training, really great coaches, Alexander still unable to get his head mentally into gear on race day... But in all, a great experience yet again in Japan. Ready for home now. Despite bryns injury and inability to train for most of the camp, he's been in good spirits. But it all points to him calling it a day it seems with ski racing..

Day 2 Mont Deus FIS SL race. Good condition in a mild pitch hill. But another punishing day with an over subscribed race with in excess of 150 male entries (140 cut off) and a huge amount of sub 100 and sub 50 point entries and # 1 seed on about 18 points so penalty is low but our boys as usual down tail end of the field and just getting over the finish line going to be a mission. Over 70 men not finishing yesterday's event

Bryn back in SL training today.. small group again.. Just him, two coaches, two girls

Wow what a privilege for these boys. They've been invited to join training in a private with Iwaya San. SAJ Alpine Director of Japan, seriously cool. Ex Olympian, ex national coach with many world cup athletes under his belt. Today was day 2 and we join him again tomorrow. Awesomeness
