A huge congratulations to our dedicated scorers who achieved new scoring qualifications throughout the 2025/26 season!👏

From those taking their first steps in scoring to those continuing to develop their skills and progress through the levels, it’s fantastic to see so many individuals investing their time in this important part of our game.

Scorers play a vital role in baseball, ensuring every hit, run and play is recorded while contributing to the smooth running of games at all levels.

A big thank you to each of you for your commitment, hard work and continued contribution to baseball in New Zealand. Your efforts behind the scenes certainly don’t go unnoticed!

🚨 SIGNED: LUKE SEENEY RETURNS TO THE MOONSHINE BANDITS 🚨

Central City Baseball Club can confirm that Luke Seeney has put pen to paper for another season with the Moonshine Bandits. ✍️⚾

Remember Dale’s one question when he signed? “Is Luke Seeney back?” 👀 Well Dale, we have your answer.

Sources say negotiations were delayed for some time. Luke refused to sign anything until he could guarantee a sufficient supply of “sports drinks” 🥤 to keep pace with Dale’s famous pre-game hydration routine. As you can see from the photo, terms were eventually met. 📦📦📦

Luke is also, of course, the proud father of the Mayor of Central City, Wyatt S. 🏛️ Sources confirm that this season Luke will help coaching his 10U team, and he is “really excited” about it. 😅 Very excited. Definitely excited. 👍

But Luke has bigger ambitions this season. Insiders say he’s coming for Malcolm Vito’s title as everyone’s favourite Bandit. 👑 Bold move.

And he may have a secret weapon. Luke’s legendary homemade old fashioned 🥃 is believed to be the only thing powerful enough to finally get Malcolm to reveal the real secret behind how he gets his baseball pants so white. ✨👖

The club is also expecting a flood of new Bandits signings now that the team knows Luke will be around to keep the Notorious Mike Covich under control. 😬 Insiders say several players were waiting on confirmation before committing. Safety first. 🦺

The club wisely agreed to all terms on the spot, including:
✅ Personal responsibility for emptying the entire warehouse of “sports drinks” by season’s end 🏭🥤 (Dale has offered to help)
✅ A front-row seat at the Mayor’s weekly press conferences 🎤
✅ Exclusive old fashioned-making rights at all Bandits functions 🥃

Malcolm, consider yourself warned. ⚠️

⚾ Picnic in the Park: Season Launch 2026/27 ⚾

The new season is almost here, and we’re kicking it off in style! Grab the whānau and a picnic rug and join us at the diamond for a night of food, fun and baseball.

Open to all Central City club members and their friends and family, plus all Diamond Lab players and coaches. Let’s see how much of our baseball community we can get together to celebrate the start of the season! 🎉

🥂 A Night of Bubbles 🥂

Following the success of our first social night, we’re back with something a little more sparkling: a Prosecco and Ch*****ne tasting evening!

Your ticket includes a glass of Prosecco on arrival, followed by a guided tasting of six French Ch*****nes hosted by Sam Baker, Senior Brand Manager – W**e at Hancocks Family Merchants. Platters will be provided throughout the night.

A cash bar (b**r and w**e) will also be available, with all proceeds going back to the club.

That’s a wrap on our Have a Go Days for 2026, and wow, what a spring it’s been!

A massive thank you to everyone who came down to War Memorial Park to give baseball a crack. Kids, parents, grandparents and mates, you brought the energy every single time. Seeing so many first-time players picking up a bat, smashing balls off the tee and joining in the Diamond Lab foam ball games has been the highlight of our season so far. 🔥

Thank you too to our amazing coaches, players and volunteers who gave up their weekends to run stations, pitch, catch, high-five and help hand gear on to the next generation. None of this happens without you. 👏

⚾ Missed out? It’s not too late!

Just because the Have a Go Days are over doesn’t mean the door is closed. You can still come and try baseball at any level:

🚨 SIGNED: JEREMY BRUCE “BANNER” RETURNS TO THE MOONSHINE BANDITS 🚨💚

Central City Baseball Club can confirm that Jeremy Bruce “Banner” has put pen to paper for another season with the Moonshine Bandits. ✍️⚾

Yes, you read that right. Bruce Banner. 🧪 We’re not saying he’s the Incredible Hulk... but we’ve never seen them in the same room. 👀

Sources say negotiations were calm, polite and professional. Club officials were careful not to make him angry. 😬 You wouldn’t like him when he’s angry. 💪

Long-time followers will remember that the Banner name first appeared in our Signed series way back at signing #3, when his son Alistair B. put pen to paper for 10U. Like father, like son. Now we know where the gamma radiation came from. ☢️

When Banner first started his baseball career, people genuinely wondered why he bothered taking a glove into the field. 🧤 Catching was... not his strong suit.

But by the end of the season? He was flying around the outfield looking like Willie Mays Hayes. 🏃‍♂️💨

Banner is now a proud member of the Bandits’ clutch outfield crew, a tight-knit unit that reports weekly to the Captain of the Outfield, Malcolm Vito. 🫡 Insiders say the weekly briefings are thorough, inspiring and only occasionally about Malcolm’s skincare routine.

The club wisely agreed to all terms on the spot, including:
✅ Extra-large uniform pants, just in case 💚
✅ A permanent spot in Malcolm’s weekly outfield briefing
✅ Strict instructions for opposing teams: do not make him angry

Opposition hitters, anything hit to the outfield now has a very large, very green problem. 🟢⚾

🚨 SIGNED: JASON "CHEEZEL" DARLEY RETURNS TO THE MOONSHINE BANDITS 🚨🧀

Central City Baseball Club can confirm that Jason "Cheezel" Darley has put pen to paper for the 2026/27 season with the Moonshine Bandits. ✍️⚾

And yes, we mean that literally. Unlike some of the other members of Central South, Cheezel is sophisticated enough to actually sign a contract. 🎩📝

When asked for comment, he offered just one statement:

💬 "The Champion Canadian Cheezel Chooses Central City." 🇨🇦

This raises two important questions:
1️⃣ Is that the most consecutive words starting with C ever to make it into a single sentence?
2️⃣ When exactly did Cheezel start referring to himself in the third person? 🤔

Cheezel lives by one simple motto: "It ain't easy being cheesy." 🧀😎

Sources close to the player say his main motivation for returning is a personal one: Cheezel is determined to finally uncover the secrets of Malcolm Vito's personal grooming and skincare routine. 🧴✨ He's often heard in the dugout referring to Malcolm as "the sexiest man alive," and he's not about to let another season go by without knowing how it's done. 💅

Insiders report he is horrified that PJ is trying to steal his long-held title of Grumpiest Moonshine Bandit. 😤 Sources say the rivalry is heating up, and neither is willing to crack a smile about it.

For the record, Cheezel says he actually likes Dale's snoring on the drive home. 😴 Not because it's pleasant, but because it's a massive improvement on Dale's singing. 🎤😬

✅ Weekly one-on-one grooming and skincare sessions with Malcolm Vito 🧴
✅ Exclusive rights to the title of Grumpiest Moonshine Bandit (PJ may appeal)
