Reef Kayak Fishing Club New Zealand

Reef Kayak Fishing Club New Zealand We Attempt to bring guys together socially who would like to hook up with others on the water and share tips.. The Hauraki Gulf is a very rich marine habitat.

The Reef Kayak Fishing Club NZ brings together keen kayak fishing enthusiasts of all ages and experience so that no one ever needs to go out onto the ocean and paddle alone to make your experiences safer and more fun. Many fishing and safety tips are available on this social club page. Otherwise paddlers would be going out on the water for the first time by themselves .... This club promotes buddy

up or group systems while out on the water to increase safety . etc....mainly a social platform which makes kayak fishing safer ..... and a chance to learn a few things from other members too".. So just visit our page , meet new friends and come along to our social kayak fishing outings. what ever your level of fishing all are welcome and it is absolutely free !. Its waters and islands are home to outstanding biological diversity and are regarded as one of the best places in New Zealand to view dolphins, whales and sea birds. Kayak Fishing is proving to be a more healthy and more ecological way of enjoying coastal activities without the need to burn fuel in small crafts. The Reef Kayak Fishing Club (established 2012) offer its members a support network for anyone who is into the sport of kayak fishing as we strongly forbid paddlers to hit the ocean by themselves. I have had over 30 years of experience kayaking in over 5 countries but was in desperate need of some local fishing knowledge here in NZ. To join us there is no joining fee and is totally free with no ongoing financial requirements. Our Fishing trips may change as fishing locations are subject to suitable marine weather conditions. Kayak along our stunning east bays coastal area , from Omaha Bay up North to Narrow Neck close to Devonport. Relax and try fishing from kayaks using various methods - a mixture of set ups and bait usually helps catch great table eating fish ! Fish such as Snapper, Kingfish, Gurnard, Kahawai, Trevally and John Dory are all dominant in the Hauraki Gulf all year round. Any fish that are within legal limits can be kept if you wish to eat them. Disclaimer : As The Reef Kayak Fishing Club NZ is a social get together only all paddlers are responsible for their own kayak and safety . At no time is The Reef Kayak Fishing Adventures NZ liable for any accidents , injury or deaths from any persons that come along to the Club social fishing trips. I strongly urge all guys to take their own responsibility by dressing appropriately for our social trips out on Saturday's . If anyone needs any help or advice with the appropriate clothing or necessary equipment such as a suitable life jacket , shorts , waders,t-shirt ,hat, suncream , water , snacks , anchor line , type of anchor , paddle leash etc..or anything necessary for a safe trip please contact me at any time . So Please remember It is very important that you stay warm but avoid heavy denim or leather-type materials. Thin layers or thermals are preferable. Your personal floatation device is important for two reasons: to keep you safe should you lose your kayak and are unable to swim to shore and to make you more visible on the water. Please take note that New Zealand's seas, rivers and lakes you need to make yourself highly visible to other vehicles on the water. Bright colors and movement are your best friends if you're hoping to avoid a nasty collision on the water or if you're in need of rescuing. Use bright blades on your paddles which will greatly increase your visibility when in motion as they reflect the sun. Make sure life jackets are also brightly colored to make you more noticeable. Please remember - Always carry a VHF Radio and a mobile phone and store it in a zip-lock bag with you in case of emergency . This is a means to call for emergency help or contact the Coastguard should a paddler need it. Please remember If you're kayaking in a group, always paddle at the speed of the slowest paddler to ensure that the group stays together. Please remember If you do go out alone please Let a reliable person know where you are headed and how long you plan to take. Agree a buffer time before Coastguard services need to be informed of your absence. Please remember In case of emergency a paddler needs to call 111 . The Coastguard North Shore will be notified if necessary. For more information about The Coastguard North Shore, see their website.
