Here's our latest champion, Jake Langford who won the boy's section in his division at the recent AIMS Games in Tauranga. Averaging 18 stableford points in each of the 3 rounds at 3 different courses he'd never played on before. That's a great achievement.
The Kaitoke School Rippa Rugby team welcomed Jake back at their accommodation with this awesome haka!

As a community we're very proud of all our kids who represent us so amazingly in everything they do!! Big thank you to all who made this opportunity happen for all of our kids!!

Stunning day on the course on Wednesday playing with Shane Pynegar who matched his previous best score. Well played.
The photo is from the 6th hole.

Yesterday's haggle was won by Dave Alison with 39 stableford points,. Nice one!

Handicaps have been updated, I'll post them here later when I get a copy.

Handicaps were updated yesterday. No major changes but check your handicap before you play so you don't lose or win your game against your opponent because of a wrong handicap.

This is why it's best for the cards to be processed through the computer. It doesn't make mistakes and it knows the current handicap!

Happy golfing!

We previously advised people playing only 9 holes not to submit those for handicap, as the cards weren't 'balanced' properly. Best idea was to wait until you played again and to do the other 9 holes you didn't play first time. No longer a problem!!

Thanks to the club committee for updating the course scorecards to more accurately reflect the course difficulty.

Main change is to the SI (Stroke Index) numbers on the card - to the right of the par of the hole. They indicate the hole difficulty rating.
These are now formatted as recommended by the PGA and R&A. Odd numbers on the front 9 and even numbers on the back,

The new cards have been done using scores collected over the last 5 years. Thousands of cards. They reflect actual hole difficulty. You may disagree. 😃

Anyone interested in understanding more about the SI of golf cards, check out this link. Trust me, it's BORING!

Here's one for those of you who'd like a challenge and a chance to play some new courses. The biannual NZ Masters Games is in Wanganui next year. Multiple sports as well as golf. Great bands and live entertainment each evening after the day's sport.

Check out the website here.

Spread the word, it would be awesome if we could get a group to go down to it. It's the biggest Masters Games in NZ and is the official New Zealand Masters Games which it shared with Dunedin. They rotate every year.

5 – 14 February 2027, Whanganui Ready to keep playing? The Downer New Zealand Masters Games returns to Whanganui from 5–14 February 2027, marking the 38th edition of Aotearoa’s largest and longest-running multisport festival. With over 60 sports and a vibrant Games Village bringing entertainme...

Handicaps have been updated. I'll post them later but check on the board outside before playing.

1st round of best net last week and a great performance by Steve Shepherd who shot a net 62. Well played.

Nearest to him is a net 67 and a couple of 68s. I don't have the names here, but will post later.

Remember, round 2 is tomorrow. Remember, it is best 3 score total out of 4 rounds,so you can discard your worst one. There's Xmas ham on this one as well!

Not compulsory to play this tournament tomorrow if you don't want. But those who are in it will be randomly drawn.

Happy swinging!
