Grammar TEC Rugby Club Inc. Grammar TEC is Auckland’s premier Rugby Club boasting more registered players at all levels than any other club in Auckland.

Grammar TEC Rugby Club is both the newest and oldest kid on the block and reflects the ever changing face of Auckland city. Grammar TEC was formed in 2013 with the amalgamation of Grammar Carlton and Teachers Eastern but traces its history back to the formation of Grafton RFC in 1873, one of the founding clubs of the Auckland Rugby Union. With the excellent Carlton and Grammar Junior programmes we

are one of the largest clubs in Auckland with well over 1000 playing members. In recent years Grammar TEC has provided the largest number of players to ARU rep teams to the extent that in 2013 one in four ARU rep players from Colts grade and above came from Grammar TEC. It is a statistic to be proud of but Grammar TEC is equally focused on growing our non-rep and non-playing members to let all share in the great game. The Grammar and Carlton Junior programmes continue at Cornwall Park and Shore Road with the Junior programme at Orakei underway. The Orakei Domain clubrooms are home to the Senior club with a facilities improvement programme underway. Come join the most welcoming club in Auckland.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Anne Macleod, wife of Grammar TEC Life Member Brian Macleod, who passed away this morning following a short illness.

Anne was a much-loved member of our rugby community and served as the Teachers Eastern Club Administrator from the 1990s through until 2013. Over many years, Anne made an enormous contribution to the club and to the wider community.

Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Brian, their family and friends at this very sad time.

Anne’s funeral will be held at Ōrākei Marae on Wednesday, with further details to follow on this post.
