BABYWEARING SAFETY CHECK #2: IS BABY SITTING PROPERLY?

Before we start moving, we want baby to be secure, supported and upright in their carrier.

A quick check:

✔️ Baby is sitting down into the carrier
✔️ Baby is well supported
✔️ Baby is upright
✔️ Baby is close against your body
✔️ Baby's face is visible
✔️ Baby's nose and mouth are clear

And remember — babywearing isn't a “set it and forget it” situation.

Keep checking your baby throughout your workout.

Because when we're exercising together, baby's safety always comes first.

Next week we'll talk about another important part of our babywearing safety check: how high baby should sit on your body.

Breathing is something we do everyday but sometimes the way we breath can actually add to our stress!

Here's a couple of ways you can bring your breath down into your diaphragm. Let me know if you try it!

What if your workout could be about more than getting your steps in?

At Kangatraining, your baby isn't something you have to organise childcare for before you can exercise.

They're part of it. ❤️

As you move together, your baby gets:

👀 your eye contact
🤗 your closeness
🎵 your rhythm and movement
🗣️ your voice
❤️ your attention

And you get something pretty important too…

You get to move your body, build your strength and feel like YOU again — without having to leave your baby behind.

That's why we call Kanga the bonding workout.

Because sometimes the best workouts aren't the ones where you escape motherhood for an hour.

They're the ones where you get to experience something together. 🥹💕

Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day 💕

And honestly, motherhood is one of those seasons where a tiny act of kindness can feel HUGE.

It's someone holding the door while you wrestle the pram.

Someone saying, "I've got the baby, you go to the toilet."

Someone noticing you're having a rough day and checking in.

Someone making space for you at the class.

Someone saying, "You're doing a great job."

You don't need to change someone's whole world.

Sometimes you just need to make their next five minutes a little easier. 🫶

So today, let's spread a little Kanga kindness.

What's one small act of kindness another mum has done for you that you'll never forget?

✨ Sunday Spotlight ✨

This week we're heading to beautiful *Whakatane* to meet one of our incredible Kangatraining instructors!

Every Kangatraining instructor has their own story, but they all share one thing in common—a passion for supporting mums through one of life's biggest transitions.

💗 Why did you become an instructor?

👉I became a Kangatraining instructor because I wanted to move my body without being separated from my baby or chucking her in the corner of a room.

💗 What's your favourite part of teaching?

👉 I love the bond ive created with my mums. Some of them have become friends for life 💜

💗 Funniesr class moment?

👉 Once I lost the key to the studio during class. I had locked it because my then 1yr old is an escape artist. Nobody could leave the studio until we found the key. We searched high and low, all the nappy bags, shoes, mat trolley, toy basket. We couldnt find it anywhere!! Until I took my top off and it was stuck to my back 🤣 Flynn was on my back during the class and he put the key down my top and during my sweat session it stuck to me!! The whole class was laughing.

💗 Best Babywearing tip?

👉 In the newborn days just constantly wear your stretchy wrap. Then if you have an upset baby you don't have to put the wrap on while they're screaming.

💗 What would you say to a mum who is nervousto come to class?

👉 I'd say, just come for a trial. If its not for you you dont have to come back. But if it is, you wont regret it.

We love celebrating the amazing women who make our Kangatraining community so special.

If you're in the Whakatane area, make sure you say hello and join a class. We know you'll be welcomed with open arms.

Leave this amazing instructor some love in the comments! 💕
