The University of Auckland Cheerleading Association The University of Auckland Cheerleading Association is a student lead and run organisation that seeks to introduce the sport to the university.

The University of Auckland Cheerleading Association currently has one team that represents the University of Auckland. The Varsity Phoenix Cheerleading team is a competitive team that represents the university at different national competitions. We are a student-operated organisation and we aim to showcase the physicality of cheerleading as a performance-based sport which contains components of st

unting, tumbling, jumps and dance. In 2015 we placed second in New Zealand's first Varsity division at Cheerfactor in Auckland. We were also short-listed for the General Club of the year award at The University of Auckland's 2015 Club awards.

2x FREE OPEN GYMS FOR VOLUNTEERS! Volunteers needed for club expos week and activations in semester 2!

This is our last chance to round up numbers for the 2025 season, you don’t want to miss out!

Club Expos
People needed to run the stall - no cheer experience necessary just a super friendly positive attitude, recruit recruit recruit!

Set up times 9:00-10:00am
Event time: 10:00-3:00pm
Pack up time: 3:00-4:00pm

(Students can do half days)

O-week Activations
Experienced, confident cheerleaders comfortable doing stunting in front of others and on a basketball court. Will showcase a bit of what we do over at UoA and give people a chance to give it a go.

Monday & Tuesday at SH2 in Hiwa.

Cheerleading isn’t just about what you see on TV, it’s about strength, endurance and discipline. A lot of hard work is put in from our athletes and it’s much harder than you think!

UoA Cheer has always prided ourselves in our hardworking boys and want to recruit more for this seasons teams!

UOACA is bringing a fresh and new team to the club this year and we want people like YOU to join!

Never done cheer before? Ex dancer? Watched Bring It On and thought, yeah I want to do that (with more actual cheer of course). We cater to all needs.

This group is all about fun while bringing your A game to each performance, we want to build a strong community of enthusiastic, determined individuals who just want to give it a try. Trust us, you’ll fall in love with the sport 😍
