Today marks 30 years of officially being a certified Les Mills Instructor.  My first programme was BodyAttack & I still have my handwritten Quality Control marking sheet from none other than Mike McSweeney.  72% - “You teach Body Attack well...” a compliment, if you know Mike didn’t sugar coat his words.  The pictures were when I was Miss Razzy’s Fitness Cente at the Miss Rotorua Beauty Pageant the same year. 

I came up to Auckland 2 years later & began embarking on my Personal Training journey.  Les Mills had an academy for training & Lee Parore facilitated this.  In Module One I was 21 weeks pregnant, Module 2 – 33 weeks pregnant & Module 3 – 37 weeks pregnant.  I was also part of a photoshoot for ‘Positively Pregnant’ a book by Emma Patton, during the same time. It would be exactly 20 years later that I actually started my Personal Training business after completing an Advanced Certificate in Personal Training. 

After having my babies in the late 1990’s I then went on to update my certification in Body Attack as Body Training Systems was developed, & of course started my journey in the Cycle Programmes – I've already told that story when RPM turned 25.  So, I guess all of this confirms that if you have a passion for health & fitness, & you love movement to music, there really is something for everyone, if you have the dedication & desire to perform.  Enjoy the journey!

A personal email from our CEO... doesn't happen very often... a rare acknowledgement & privilege. Technical issues following the windows update & reboot has meant our studios have had sound & microphone challenges. As an Instructor it's a reminder that these enhance the experience but without them, it is still possible to deliver what we all show up for... a work out together... Group Fitness!

💯 releases, 25 years of a "Cycling workout where we ride to the rhythm of powerful music to a calorie burning endorphin high". I've been honored to share the passion & journey for 21years 8mths of that time. First, under the fierce leadership of Mike McSweeney in a program I first wanted to be good at, then great at, then share with anyone, anywhere in every LM Club that was built. Thank you Mike for the love, passion & insatiable ability to share. Thank you to Jaci Griffin for giving me the opportunity to learn & share when Les Mills New Lynn was built. Thank you to Carrie Kepple & Sarah Robinson who took me on board when Les Mills Newmarket first opened. Thank you to a community & a Club I wholeheartedly believe in... Why? You know you love something when it's the BEST part of your day EVERY day right?!
It's called passion but to consistently deliver you have to LOVE what you do, DO what you love, then it loves YOU right back.
There also has to be a WHY? ...
I waited for Les Mills Newmarket to open.
For years THIS community served me. My kids went to Auckland Grammar & Epsom Girls Grammar. I spent a lot of time ferrying kids back & forth from school, sports & activities in THIS community. Now it's MY turn to give back.
Give back to the parents who are now doing the same, but also to GenZ... those who went to school at the same time as my kids & who are now out in the workforce, joining the hustle of life.

I am so thankful that movement to music & this thing we call exercise, provides me with the GATEWAY to stay connected with this community. To positively influence, share & motivate those who embrace health & wellness in the exercise space, as part of their everyday life. It serves me, so why not make it a shared experience, come WITH me on the journey. So much FUN, love & energy⚡lives right here. Our lives are so much richer with a daily dose of that! 💓
