Allison Fisher, Change Coach - in Life & Career Guiding women in mid-life to navigate change, rediscover their purpose, and build confidence for their next chapter. Life Coach since 2002.

Offering 1:1 coaching and online courses focused on passion, purpose, and healthy boundaries. Life can feel overwhelming when you're standing at a crossroads - wondering what’s next, or how to start living life on your own terms. Since 2002, I’ve helped women in mid-life navigate change with confidence by rediscovering their values, uncovering their passions, and creating a life filled with meaning and purpose. Through 1:1 coaching and online courses, I guide women to put themselves first without guilt, set healthy boundaries, and shift from living by others’ expectations to living for themselves. You don’t have to figure it all out alone. If you’re ready to reclaim your direction, build confidence, and live a life that feels true to you, I’d love to support you.

I used to think the walls kept me safe.

Turns out they kept me from the thing I actually wanted, which was connection.

My new blog is up on what's really getting in the way, and what to do about it.

Feeling stuck isn't a personality flaw. It might just be an old belief stopping you from moving forward.

I see this often with the women I coach. They know exactly what they want, they can picture it clearly, and still can't move toward it. That's the belief doing its job: keeping them safe, familiar, small.

New on the blog this week - the belief that's actually running the show, and what I see right before something shifts.

The First Thing to Do When You Can't Stop the Change

Some change you don't get a say in. Redundancy. The
price of oil. Ageing. A divorce that wasn't of your
choosing.

You can spend a lot of energy fighting that. Wishing it
were different. Trying to get off the train.

But there's a question worth asking instead: what's the
first thing I'm going to do to handle this?

It doesn't mean feeling positive about it straight away.

There's a middle step we tend to skip: actually feeling
into how you feel about it. Sometimes that includes
grief. Some kind of loss to acknowledge before you can
move forward.

I think of a client going through a hard transition.

What helped wasn't a five-year plan. It was one small
thing that was still hers. A walk with a friend. Ten
minutes with a book. Nothing that fixed the bigger
picture, but something that reminded her she was still
there underneath the change.

That's usually the first thing. Not the big brave
decision. Just one small thing you choose, in the
middle of something you didn't.

What's your one small thing been lately?

Uncertain times call for creating stability within.

So many of the women I work with right now are feeling unsettled and overwhelmed; not sure how to feel grounded.

But even when things are uncertain outside, you can still cultivate stability inside.

I made a free mini-training with 3 tools to help. Comment GROUNDED and I'll send it through.

Can't remember what actually lights you up anymore?

It doesn't take a grand gesture to find your way back to yourself. In fact it's usually the small rituals that get you there.

A walk without a podcast, a cuppa with no agenda, a show you genuinely love (Ted Lasso, always).

Those little sparks aren't trivial. They're pointing you home.

What's your tried and true way to come back home to yourself? Tell me below 👇

One of the most useful things I've ever learned - and it's only three words.

Walking into a room full of strangers?
Act as if you're confident.

Don't believe you're good enough for the job?
Act as if you are.

Always wanted to learn to dance?
Act as if you can.

Keep practising this - and it might just surprise you how quicklyit starts to feel true.

Save this for the next time the gremlins show up.

How has the year been so far for you?
Have you achieved what you wanted?
Have you spent enough time with the people that are special to you or doing the things you love?

At mid-year it’s a good time to reflect on what you started out to achieve at the beginning of the year and where you’ve got to.

No shaming yourself though! If you're feeling good about the year so far congratulate yourself.

If you feel you’ve been a bit slow or things have gone off the rails that’s okay. There is still another 6 months of the year to go yet.

There’s no shame in starting again or adjusting your direction.

Do make a choice though, what would you like to focus on for the rest of the year? What will give you the greatest pleasure?

I’m not talking about gratification, but what would make you smile most days if you were doing it or being it?

Winter is the time to reflect to slow down and rest. Make the time. Choose and act.
