Some evenings become more than an event. They become part of a clubs story. Our Pacific Heritage evening we celebrated the journey of Ponsonby, reconnecting generations and recognising the people whose lives have shaped this club. Since 1908, Ponsonby has been built by many communities, each leaving their mark on our history. This year we honoured our Pacific people. Throughout this project we gathered memories, stories of migration, identity and resilience. Stories of success and struggle. Stories that have lived in conversations and hearts for generations.
What became clear is that Ponsonby didn’t just need a home.
It needed its people.
Clubrooms give us a place to gather, but it is our people who give Ponsonby its heart, its culture, its identity.
That evening reminded us that our greatest strength has always been our ability to come together. To reconnect old teammates, welcome new generations, honour those who came before us and continue building a club that refuses to give up.
That resilience is the story of Ponsonby.
To everyone who shared their memories, to every family who trusted us with their history and to everyone who joined us on the night, thank you.
