🥎 WANT TO LEARN HOW TO SCORE SOFTBALL? 🥎

With the new season just around the corner, this is a great opportunity for any parents, supporters or club members who would like to learn how to score a game — or simply brush up on the rules and understand what’s happening on the diamond.

Western Magpies Softball Club is gearing up for the 2026/2027 season and we’d love to see even more players and families join our Magpies whānau!

Whether you’re brand new to softball or already love the game, there’s a place for you at the Magpies. We cater for a range of ages and abilities, with a friendly, family-focused club atmosphere.

We’re a growing club based at Brains Park, Kelston, and we welcome new and returning players of all abilities.

Today marks the start of Z Energy’s Good in the Hood, and we’re incredibly excited to be one of the four local community groups selected at Z Waikumete!

From today until 14 September, every eligible purchase at Z Waikumete comes with an orange or blue voting token. 🟠🔵

From Tuesday 18 August, Western Magpies Softball Club will be taking part in Z Energy Good in the Hood at Z Waikumete!

How can you help?
When you make an eligible purchase at Z Waikumete, you’ll receive an orange voting token. Simply pop your token into the Western Magpies voting box!

There’s $5,000 up for grabs for the participating community groups, with the money shared based on the number of votes received. Every token = a vote for our club!

CONGRATULATIONS KELSTON BOYS! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Kelston Boys’ High School 1A on taking out the 1A Grand Final with an impressive 27–15 victory!

What an awesome achievement for the boys and a fantastic result for our local Kelston community!

A massive congratulations to the players, coaches, management, whānau and everyone who has supported the team throughout the season.

Western Magpies Softball Club has been lucky enough to be selected as one of the local community groups taking part in Z Energy’s Good in the Hood at Z Waikumete!

Magpies Ladies had their first pre-season training at Ballpark West Indoor Training Arena on Thursday!

Great venue and a great way to get the first hit-out under the belt as we kick off pre-season. 💪🥎
