Come and join us for our upcoming Clinic. $30 pp or $20pp for volunteers..... Mirimiri is a traditional Māori healing practice that re-balances, restores function and releases deeply-held tension in the body.
Techniques used include applying pressure to pressure points, using tools such as kōhatu (stones), spine and joint alignment techniques and the use of hands, feet, elbows and body weight to work the muscles and tissue.
The build-up of tension in the body is the result of an accumulation of the stress and trauma we experience throughout our lives. Left untreated, it can lead to pain, illness or dysfunction on a physical, emotional, mental or spiritual level. While Mirimiri focuses on tissue, muscle, bone and blood, Romiromi stimulates the internal organs and systems of the body. Mirimiri and Romiromi work holistically not only to heal physical ailments, but also to balance your wairua (spirit) and mauri (life-force/essence) and aid recovery from trauma or emotional distress.
