TARANAKI FOIL WEEKEND
We're planning a trip down to Taranaki and want you to come along.
The plan is simple — a weekend away chasing waves on foils, whether that's wingfoiling, Foil Drive, prone, or SUP. We'll have accommodation sorted and a solid range of demo gear on hand to get you on the water.
Why Taranaki?
Mount Taranaki funnels the wind and stirs up its own local weather, so there's almost always something on somewhere along the coast. With 105km of exposed coastline facing the Tasman Sea and Southern Ocean swells, the region gets rideable conditions in nearly any wind direction — it's why Taranaki's home to the Taranaki Wave Classic, one of the biggest wave-sailing events in the southern hemisphere. Spots like Bayley Road, Waitara, Weld Road and the black sand beach at Oakura are the stuff of legend in the windsports world, and this trip is your chance to get amongst it.
Who is this trip for?
This one's aimed at wingers who can already gybe and hold an upwind line and are keen to start exploring waves, plus Foil Driver's, Prone Foilers and SUP foilers who want to be shown around and guided to the best spots.
On the demo rack we'll have the Armstrong MA MK II and UHA Foils, X-Form Midlength Boards with the New Armstrong Masts, Foil Drive, Duotone Foil Assist, Axis Surge Foils, and a range of Armstrong Wings.
