I was recommended Vandana as I was seeking a personal trainer to help me build a fitness program to suit my transition into perimenopause and heal from a serious injury.
The last 5 years have been a struggle with employment stress, travel, weight gain and injury. I tried swimming, jogging, gyms, fasting, counting calories and saunas. I was fatiguing constantly and feeling very discouraged with no break through. Vandana wrote me an exercise program that was specific to me, challenging, achievable and safe. She taught me how to adjust my program to suit hormone levels during my cycle. She advised on how to fuel correctly before and after a workout and about carb cycling for rest days.
I have learned a lot about how to make sure my training is periodized properly and has the right amounts of low and high intensity. I’ve introduced heavy lifting and HIIT into my weekly routine and have been consistent for 4 months.
The first few months felt like an adjustment period where my body and mind were getting used to the weights and program type. It was challenging to retrain my mind, that it’s necessary to reduce weights and cardio during cycle week and not feel like a failure. I stuck to the plan and trusted Vandana knew what she was doing.
As a result I am now getting stronger and faster, less fatigued, hormones feel more balanced, more confident and I fit my old jeans. I have finally turned a corner in my health journey and can finally feel and see the physical and mental health benefits. So thank you so much Vandana.
